Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 1072

"What?"

They saw the screen, feeling a Will reaching out and blanketing their own, but they were still having a hard time grasping what it was they were seeing.

The word Earth was like a flashbang in their minds. Even if there had been a language barrier, it was irrelevant when the Ancient Ithkuil was practically engraved onto their minds.

This could have been the very first day they had heard the word Progenitor, and yet they would have fully understood exactly what it meant for Sylas to hold such a Title.

However, even while understanding completely, they didn't know how to react.

For one, Sylas wasn't a Clypsian. He was a Human Simioid—whatever that was supposed to mean. As far as they knew, this probably meant that the Overlord Race of Earth had swapped hands again. Although there was some solace in the fact he wasn't a Dogon, that wasn't enough for them to feel completely at ease either.

They had spent all of their time building up their sense of identity around their pride as Clypsians, dreaming of the day they would return to their world as the Overlord Race once more. It would be hard for anyone to accept that their world had suddenly been taken over by another Race likely even more powerful than themselves.

Of course, they didn't really know what a "Human" was. They had no interaction with Humans, and during their time, the Race that would become Humans was among the most foolish of the humanoids on Earth.

They were better than monkeys and apes—but barely, in the eyes of the Clypsians. Even now, they hadn't even drawn the connection between those sapiens and Sylas.

Even with all of that said, there was one thing that was very obviously clear—the odds that Sylas was a pawn of the Sylphs was basically zero.

The Clypsians had been here for a long time, but they were an intelligent Race with far more talent than the Sylphs. That was why the Sylphs were so cautious with how they went about things. In this time, they had figured out a great deal of things…

Including deducing the bridge plot.

It had to be remembered that back during his battle with the three Monarchs he inevitably saved Nosphaleen from, Sylas had deduced that Nosphaleen was the perfect bridge to Earth for their enemies to use. By becoming an Overlord again, it would make Earth more susceptible to outsiders.

By raising a bridge that was beyond the limits of Earth, you could make Earth more pliable, allowing stronger and stronger characters to target it and bend its rules further.

Of course, Earth now was far stronger once again, currently in the process of progressing to a Grade 10 Silver World—something that would surely shock the galaxy once it was complete.

But the point itself still stood.

If Sylas had already become the Progenitor of Earth, all of the rest of these things were useless. Why bother to raise up the Clypsians when most of the bridge-building could be done by Sylas alone?
