Sylas sucked in a cold breath.
This wasn’t going to be easy, not even remotely. He had come out with a lot of confidence, but the stats of this creature were beyond his imagining.
There was also something particularly shocking about its Aether. It felt like there was a tangible difference between it and anything that he had ever experienced before.
The fact that it was its only stat above 4000 was definitely not a coincidence. In fact, the fact it had so many 3999 stats also shouldn’t be a coincidence, much the same way the Violet Rose Heart had so many 2999 stats.
It had met a Gene-Stat Limit. And somehow, its Intelligence had broken free of that.
’Does it have Gold Genes? Or is there something else I’m missing? No…’
Sylas had a feel for Genes most wouldn’t thanks to Extricate. He was somehow certain that the Glass Monkey didn’t have Gold Genes, but then how did it break its Gene-Stat Limit?
’It’s Level… it crossed Level 40, another demarcating line.’
All of these thoughts came to Sylas in a whirlwind.
Even fused with the Basilisk King, most of his stats weren’t even half that of the Glass Monkey. In fact, they would still be wholly inferior even if he could use Fusion and his Scorpion Warlord Armor at the same time.
Sylas took a deep breath, his gaze gaining an eerie calm to it.
The Glass Monkey was too perfect for him. He wouldn’t be taking a step back here.
BANG!
A spiked pillar surged up beneath his feet.
Sylas was quick to react, sliding to the side and then pushing off. Distance was his kryptonite in a situation like this one. He couldn’t allow the monkey to set the tempo.
But at the same time, he could tell that this beast’s level of intelligence might be high, but its character was not.
It didn’t realize just how large the gap in their strengths was, so it was playing it safe, trying to keep a distance while attacking him from afar even though that weakened its power considerably.
Sylas knew why this was.
The beast was still traumatized from their last encounter. It had thought it was going to die after Sylas picked it up and threw it.
Ironically, it was because of its intelligence that it was making such a stupid decision. It wanted Sylas to stay at a distance and it was very hesitant to engage. But that was only because it was smart enough to recall their last battle even though it had happened months ago… and that was precisely what would give Sylas an opening.
