Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 773

Chapter 773 How Far?

Sylas realized that standing around wasn't going to get him the answers he wanted, so he took a step forward and entered the first of the nine doors.

A row of nine eggs sat before Sylas on cushioned platforms when he entered. They lay there, a silent mass of swirling colors about half the size of his head.

There was no other explanation given.

Sylas stood there for a long while. He had already asked about Tongue'Head for all of the explanations he needed in advance.

For all Beast Master Secret Realms, the nine challenges were the exact same. This first challenge was a selection challenge. Based on the eggs alone, he had to point out which creature had the highest potential.

It seemed that the first challenge was, indeed, tailored to his specialization because he could tell at a glance that they were all Serpentes. But the problem was…

His Insight was far beyond what the Secret Realm could match up to.

The one with the greatest potential was actually…

Sylas' head turned toward an egg with a murky brown surface. Blue clouds were matted onto the brown hue, floating around with a hint of mysticism.

Although it was a beautiful egg, compared to the others, it was still greatly lagging. Once it was born, Sylas could see how this creature would be F- at best in the eyes of many.

However, if it was raised with his methods, it could grow to become a descendant of the Mud Sky Serpentes, a creature with both water and earth affinities.

While this sounded unappealing and quite lame, the Mud Sky Serpent was able to freely control the viscosity of its Mud Aether, making it as hard as stone or as fluid as water. In battle, that sort of control could be handy in a great number of ways, and excellent for both offense, defense, and area control.

Honestly, if it was a real creature and not just a projection, Sylas would take it.

Then again, this creature only had the potential to be the descendant of a Mud Sky Serpent, not a real one. A Mud Sky Serpent was a Bronze King Beast, but this descendant wouldn't be able to breach that level unless Sylas took some drastic levels.

Even so, it would definitely be able to reach FFF+ by Earth's standards. As for Skai Galaxy's standards, Sylas wasn't sure just yet. But he wouldn't be surprised.

Sylas knew that this was the right answer. However…

His gaze landed on another egg. This one was yellow and blue, and it was near identical to the one next to it. The clouds on its surface were just the slightest bit smaller, and the yellowed textures were just the slightest bit brighter.

However… it was the smaller and dimmer one that was the right answer.

This creature only had the potential to reach the F Grade, while all the others only had the potential to reach the extremities of the F- Grade, with the exception of the Mud Sky Serpent, of course.

It was because of this that Sylas knew that he couldn't listen to his Legendary Path Talent. The fact that the gap was so large between the Mud Sky descendant and this yellow-blue serpent meant that it wasn't part of the equation.

When he adjusted his Insight, he saw that there was only one path for the Mud Sky descendant to reach the heights he saw, and it wasn't normal for someone to be able to see it.

'This is just the F- Grade. We will see if I'm correct or not very soon.'

Sylas chose the dimmer egg with F Grade potential.

A new row of eggs appeared and he chose again. Every time, he was sharp and fast.

An egg like the Mud Sky descendant didn't appear again, so Sylas realized that he was definitely correct in his assessment, so he adjusted his thoughts for the future.

Not only did he need to consider the right answer, but he needed to consider what would be the right answer from the perspective of the creators of his Secret Realm.

"He didn't choose it, your lordship."
