Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 826

Sylas didn’t seem very surprised as Cassarae walked in, slamming the door behind her. She took off the long sword by her side and drove it right through the door, half as a veiled threat to Sylas and another half as what seemed like a protective measure.

A rippling barrier of blue and red formed from her sword and enveloped the room completely.

Then, as though she hadn’t just impaled a door, she turned to where Sylas was sitting on the edge of his bed, took a step, then slammed a foot down between his legs, barely a centimeter or two from a particularly vulnerable place.

She looked down at Sylas, almost growling, her discontent and dissatisfaction radiating in waves. It looked like she had truly reached her boiling point, and she wasn’t going to calm anytime soon.

"You lasted all of two days after sticking your tongue down my throat. How chivalrous of you, fucking asshole. What? Did your dick go limp again?"

Cassarae had already said that she regretted those words years ago, but when she saw red… well, she saw red.

Now, back in what felt like the same exact situation again, she thanked her brain for being smart where her damn womb refused to be.

He was still the same guy who had abandoned her all those years ago, the same guy whose emotions flipped on a dime just because, the same guy who, even if he had a reason, would probably refuse to voice it in any way that wouldn’t piss her off.

Sylas looked up at her, meeting her eyes. Even now, his expression hadn’t changed much at all, as though she could have said whatever she wanted and it would never faze him.

At that moment, Cassarae felt like what she was seeing was very different. The Sylas of back then… even though his reasoning had been terrible, he had at least tried to put her down gently in his own stupid little way.

But this… this was beyond that.

"You’re… so insufferable…"

She grit her teeth, tears brimming in her eyes. But with her streak of stubbornness, it would truly be a cold day in hell if they ever fell.

A string of curses came from her mouth, and only when she was certain that Sylas didn’t seem to have any intention of responding did she turn and stomp away.

"—I can’t believe I was stupid enough to actually give you a chance. No, I’m not taking the blame for this," she huffed out a tired breath as she wheezed for air between her words. "How is it my fault that you’re so pee-brained? How is it my fault you’ve gaped your own asshole with that big-ass ego of yours so many times your prolapse is blooming flowers?! HOW IS IT MY FAULT THAT—!"

Cassarae found a firm hand on her wrist before she could reach for her sword. She couldn’t react as she was spun around, and for the first time… her Strength was nowhere near Sylas’ own.

A pair of lips pressed against hers as her back slammed into the wall.

Her body was forced to the tips of her toes, a strong forearm wrapping around her waist and making her feel as though she was completely and utterly weightless.

It was a brief three seconds that felt like an eternity, but Cassarae seemed to snap out of it quickly enough to pull back.

But when her head found nowhere to go but a solid wall, her palm swung, slapping across Sylas’ face.

There was the resounding echo of palm to cheek as she took a strong bite at Sylas’ lower lip at the same time, but the latter only barely pulled back.

Their noses practically touched, Cassarae’s heavy breath billowing against Sylas’ face. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"Let go of me! Leave me the fuck alo—!"

Sylas kissed her again.

Cassarae bit his lip harder, but she was having a hard time tearing through his Constitution. By the time she drew the faintest drop of blood, her jaw was practically locking.

Her fists and palms beat against Sylas’ shoulders and chest, her irritation only seeming to grow more and more.

Until Sylas finally let her go.

Heaving deep breaths, Cassarae leaned against the wall, her knees almost buckling. There was a flushed color to her face and just the slightest sheen of sweat.

For the first time in a long while, she was silent. Maybe it was because she was breathing so hard, or maybe because she was truly rendered speechless this time.

"… You… asshole…"

She finally wheezed out.

"… You smell… like a… slut…"

Sylas’ gaze flickered, but he didn’t say anything.

"Fuck… that pisses me off… you left for two days… and suddenly someone is touching on my man…"
