The wind billowed around Sylas fiercely, kicking his own hair up as well and separating it at a seam right down his brows, through his forehead, and down toward the back of his skull.
And then, right there in the middle of his forehead, something seemed to be taking shape—a strong, pulsing power of radiant green.
It took the shape of a seed or the tender slope of an almond.
As the wind grew stronger, the pulse of light became less erratic and more controlled, until it solidified like a sparkling emerald gem. It pressed into the center of Sylas’ forehead. Or, rather, now that it was truly solid, it became obvious that it had already been.
Gralith watched all of this in silence, seemingly not in very much shock at what was happening.
Rune Spark… it was known as the pinnacle of Rune Mastery. That was something that even Gralith felt was the truth for a very long time.
But after reading some ancient texts, and now having the pleasure of personally experiencing the growth of a Spark Rune Master, he realized that this might just be the beginning.
The fact that it was a seed wasn’t the reason he felt this way. Instead, it was because all of the ancient texts he read had always been so vague about the Rune Spark level.
In the beginning, he thought that it was because so few had ever reached it. While he had heard of masters reaching Rune Essence and even a sparse few who reached Rune Vitality, even those he had heard of reaching Rune Spark often tended to be old monsters who managed what they called Return to Origin Breakthroughs.
These Return to Origin Breakthroughs referred to Rune Masters who were able to revisit previous Grades and upgrade their Rune Mastery, like an E-Grade expert who managed to raise their F-Grade level.
This was rare as well, but it wasn’t impossible.
However, the more Gralith studied, the more understanding he gained that it wasn’t that they were being vague because they were too rare… but rather that they had no choice but to be.
Not everyone’s Spark manifested the same way, and though they had the same general ability to see through the Mesh of Reality and interact with it to a small extent, it would never manifest in identical ways.
Now, seeing this process right before him, Gralith was even more certain of his conjectures.
Every process was unique.
A Will Core Etching… I wonder what the end result will be…
If Soul Construct Etching had already been such a big deal, one could imagine just what a Will Core Etching represented.
It could be said that step by step… Sylas was changing who he was from the very core of his being.
The seed sank into Sylas’ body, and his body trembled from head to toe. Veins of emerald green spread out from the center of his forehead, painting his entire body in a shocking pattern that carried an ancient, untouchable air.
