Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 896

’The First Summoning and the Seventh…’ Sylas thought in silence as he listened to Archibald. ’… If we learn everything about these two, we’ll probably have the full picture of everything. But there’s another curious transition as well. That should be the Third Summoning…’

According to Nosphaleen, the Clypsians should have gotten a second chance like many of the other Races did, but their time was somehow cut short by the Dogons.

In the past, Sylas had taken almost everything Nosphaleen said with a grain of salt. That was because she was not only an emotional party, but she was also highly biased. This was her own Race they were talking about, after all.

But time bore out that she was correct. The Dogons really were traitors and couldn’t have been more in bed with Aki if they tried.

While this wasn’t enough for Sylas to take everything Nosphaleen had said as 100% fact, the truth of the transition between the Second and Third Summoning was probably close enough to what she had said.

Plus, now that she was well and truly his Contract, he could feel out the difference a little easier.

He could easily tell when his Contracts were lying. The main issue was that Nosphaleen had been indoctrinated since she was young. She might very well believe that she was telling the truth, but that didn’t mean that she was.

What curiously stood out to Sylas was the difference in the array of methods.

The transition from the Second to Third Summoning introduced a Race maybe more powerful than any Earth had ever seen. Sylas didn’t know that for sure, but what he did know was that the Dogons posed a greater challenge for him than any Clypsians he had ever faced—by far.

But for the transition from the Sixth to Seventh Summoning, they seemed to have pushed forward a weaker Race. At the very least, that’s what Archibald seemed to be implying with his introduction of the Great Apes.

He couldn’t help but wonder why there was a difference. What unique situations triggered those choices? And if the Dogons were so powerful, and also the perfect pawns, then why did they only get two Summonings…

Technically speaking, although not in their truest form, their Human Race got three of them—one as Great Apes, and two as Humans…

Thoughts, possibilities, and deductions swirled about in Sylas’ mind, but he eventually hit the same brick walls that Archibald had.

There wasn’t enough information. Only enough existed to speculate. Even his mind was incapable of leaping to the proper conclusion through all of this mess.

"What do you plan to do with these people?" Sylas eventually asked after organizing his thoughts.

"I do not know. You speak of a World War… these people are too important to get rid of in such an event. The Celestial Republic’s Emperor and his Clypsian allies should surely be released, but the Eurpeia Emperor is too controlling, conniving, and cruel. If we release him, it’s bound to cause trouble."

"Then just kill him."

Archibald’s lip twitched, but Sylas was already walking away.

"Kill those that are untrustworthy. Let those that you feel can be used or trusted live. If the Eurpeia Emperor is dead, it will make it more convenient for me to go and check on something."

Sylas’ thoughts were, of course, about the odd Dungeon the Twin Moon Healers had entered. Eurpeia was where they had escaped from, and it was the Eurpeia Emperor that chased them down.

"Things aren’t that simple!" Archibald called after Sylas. "If we kill the Emperor, then the people under him will fall into chaos. Controlling one madman is easier than trying to cull an entire nation!"
