Leo asks, “is the source right?”
He remembers Claire saying that the killer wasn’t Bryce but someone else. But he was so angry that he didn’t listen to her at all. He misunderstands her!
Damn! He did it wrong! No wonder Claire hates him so much and refuses to forgive him!
Luke pats Leo on the shoulder and says seriously, “I personally investigated it so it’s absolutely true. I know it’s hard for you to accept now, but it’s true.”
However, no matter what Luke says, Leo just looks down at the floor and doesn’t speak.
“Think about it for yourself, and I’ve found some doubts about the little wild cat. I’ll keep investigating. I’ll get back to you.” With that, Luke sighs and leaves the hospital in silence.
It’s getting dark. Leo holds a position and doesn’t move. After a long time, he slowly raises his head and looks at the ward in front of him.
Leo walks in slowly. Claire is lowering her head and stroking her stomach. Her smile with maternal love is more beautiful than all the sceneries in the world.
Leo looks at her. He opens his mouth to say something, but his throat seems to be stuck in something.
Claire looks up and sees Leo standing at the door. She frowns a little and doesn’t want to talk to him.
Claire has ignored him completely these days. No matter what he does, she will never forgive him.
Leo walks slowly to the bed and sits down. He wants to reach out and touch Claire’s stomach, but he hesitates. “Claire, can I touch him?”
Claire immediately protects her stomach with her hands. She snorts, “No.”
Leo’s hand stops in mid air. He slowly takes his hand back and looks at Claire’s stomach. He says seriously, “Claire, don’t worry. No matter whose baby he is, I will bring him up. I’ll think of him as my own baby.”
It’s a compensation for Bryce.
Claire raises her eyebrows. She sneers scornfully in her heart. He is your own baby!
But she’s not going to tell the truth. She stretches and says, “I’m tired. I want to sleep.”
“OK. Good night. Have a good dream.” Leo covers Claire. He even tidies up the four corners of the quilt.
Leo has learned how to take care of others these days.
Claire turns a blind eye to it. She said that one day she will make him regret what he has done.
Claire doesn’t break her promise. She does what she says.
After Claire has breakfast the next day, Leo says, “since you don’t want to see me, I won’t come to the hospital. I’ll find a thoughtful nanny to look after you later.”
Claire just snorts after listening.
It’s a good thing for her. She is annoyed to see him.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
