When Leo gets to the elevator, he thinks that he has forgotten to ask Claire if she wants water. He goes back to ask Claire.
But what Leo didn’t expect is that when he goes back to the place where he has just separated from Claire, he can’t see her!
He panics and looks around. He doesn’t see Claire’s back.
Fear slowly occupies Leo’s heart. Does she escape?
Thinking of this, Leo anxiously pulls the nurse aside. He points to the chair Claire has just sat in and asks, “where is the patient who was sitting here?”
The nurse is startled by Leo. She points in the other direction and falters, “I don’t know, but I saw her go in this direction just now. She just left.”
Before the nurse finishes, Leo lets go and runs in the direction Claire left.
At the same time, he has a foreboding. This is the direction of the hospital gate!
Leo doesn’t think too much. He runs to the hospital gate. He is anxious and keeps looking around. He sees a woman like Claire getting into a black car!
The woman is wearing a hospital gown and there is a ward number on it. She’s Claire!
She’s going to run!
At that moment, Leo just feels his heart is about to jump out. He didn’t expect that he just leaves for a while, but Claire leaves him and get into someone else’s car!
“Claire, come back! Do you hear me! I won’t let you go!”
Leo pushes away the people in front like crazy. He dashes for his car. He can’t let Claire leave him! He’s going to get her back!
Leo starts the car to chase Claire’s car before closing the door.
Claire gets in the car and sees Juan. She says hello to him with a smile, “Hello, we’ve met again.”
Juan smiles at her and holds up the drink in his hand and asks, “would you like some water?”
Claire is so tired from running that she takes Juan’s drink and smiles, “thanks!”
“You’re welcome.” Juan looks at the rearview mirror. He finds an interesting thing, “but your husband is catching up.”
Claire looks in the rearview mirror, too. When she sees Leo’s white car chasing after her, her heart seems to be stirred by something.
She slips out. He’s bound to be furious. She seems to imagine him getting angry.
Claire frowns and bows her head. But when she turns to Juan, she says, “he’s never my husband!”
They are not married at all.
“Ha ha.” Claire’s words delights Juan. He accelerates and smiles happily. “You finally admit that he is not your husband. Well, since you says that, I’ll play with him!”
With that, Juan speeds up and drives skillfully.
Leo follows closely. He competes with Juan at 250 mph.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
