Claire looks at the interviewer and tries to get the last chance for herself. “I know my personal image doesn’t meet your standards, but there is no specific requirement for appearance in the recruitment information. You said just now that my qualifications and talents are worthy of being your general manager’s secretary. I’m sure I’ll do my best! Please give me a chance!”
The interviewer says in embarrassment, “it’s not that we don’t want you. Our general manager has special requirements... Mrs. Howard, why are you here?”
As the interviewer speaks, he stands up and walks to the door.
Mrs. Howard?
Claire looks at the door in disbelief. She sees a well dressed woman come in.
Tracy waves impatiently to the interviewer and says arrogantly, “go ahead. I just come here to have a look.”
“OK.” Tracy is the president’s fiancee. Of course the interviewer listens to her. Tracy and Leo are engaged for a long time and will definitely get married later. These subordinates can’t offend the future Mrs. Howard.
So he asks Tracy to sit where he was and asks his assistant to pour her tea. He completely ignores Claire.
Tracy sits arrogantly in the best position in the conference room. She says to the interviewer indifferently, “go ahead. Leave me alone.”
“OK.” The interviewer nods frequently. When he sits down and looks at Claire, he says with some dissatisfaction, “Why are you still here? I told you we won’t hire you. Get out of here.”
Claire stands up disappointed and walks out in silence. She has to find another way to get close to Leo.
But to Claire’s surprise, the interviewer just called the woman Mrs. Howard. The president of the company is Leo. They...
Thinking of this, Claire’s heart suddenly slows. She feels strange and even sad.
Is Leo married?
Over the years, Claire never inquired about Leo. She doesn’t know if he is married.
And on the way back, Claire had no idea that Leo might get married. She has been single for years and doesn’t want to get married.
Maybe Leo is still Leo after all. It’s normal for him to get married. Wait!
If he gets married, why does he kidnap her son? He will have his own children in the future, but she only has one son!
Claire is filled with anger. She must find Leo as soon as possible and ask him to return her son!
“Wait!” When Claire is in a hurry to leave the conference room, a woman stops her.
Claire stops and thinks she’s listening wrong. Is that woman calling her?
Claire looks back in disbelief. She looks at the well-dressed woman in surprise.
Tracy nods and raises her chin and says proudly, “come here.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
