Leo is pushed out by Claire. Claire closes the door before he can speak.
“...” Leo is speechless.
Claire is relieved after sending Leo away. She tries to raise a happy smile and walks towards the room.
After changing her clothes, Claire and Kate go out for breakfast.
During the whole process, looking at her best friend, Claire has been hesitant to tell Kate that Leo likes her.
If she says it, will she be too shocked to eat? Kate may not believe Leo likes her. After all, Kate’s impression of Leo has always been bad and she seldom associates with Leo who has lost her memory. She has no idea how much Leo has changed.
But if she doesn’t say it, she doesn’t know how to deal with Leo. If she tells Kate, Kate can give her ideas on how to end her strange relationship with Leo.
Claire has been thinking so she is absent-minded when she is eating.
“What are you thinking?” Kate is Claire’s good friend for more than ten years. She sees Claire thinking at a glance.
Claire hesitates for a moment and decides to tell Kate about it. She wants to know what Kate thinks of the ambiguous relationship. “I want to say something to you, but you have to promise that before I finish, you have to keep calm and give me a rational view, OK?”
“Come on.” Kate says impatiently.
Claire puts down her spoon. She calms down and says, “Leo said he likes me.”
Kate squirts the porridge out of her mouth. Fortunately, Claire is prepared. She dodges so the porridge doesn’t spray on her.
Claire frowns and says, “didn’t you say you wouldn’t get excited?”
“No...” Kate is probably choked. She pats her chest and calms down. She looks at Claire incredulously and asks, “what did you just say? Leo said he likes you? Is it the Leo this morning?”
“Keep it down!”
Kate is so excited that her voice is loud. Several guests in the breakfast shop look at them at once. Claire is so ashamed that she wants to get into a hole in the ground.
She should have told Kate at her home. Kate is a straightforward woman. She’ll let everyone around know about it.
“Really? Does Leo really say he likes you?” Kate also realizes that her voice is too loud. She leans forward and asks incredulously.
“It’s true.” Claire nods seriously.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
