“OK!” Luke nods and looks at the ambulance and says, “you take the ambulance to the hospital first. I’ll be there later.”
With that, he gets in the car and starts it. Claire quickly gets into the ambulance, too.
When they come to the hospital, there are few people and only the staff on duty. But when they see the patient, they push the car responsibly.
The doctors and nurses push Leo to the operating room. Claire has to wait outside the operating room. She stands for a while and Luke arrives. They sit outside the operating room and wait anxiously for the doctor’s notice.
Because the situation is special, Luke doesn’t ask Claire why Leo has a sudden attack. Even though he has told Claire about it, he is prepared for Leo to be like this.
Although he doesn’t want to admit it, he knows Leo. He’s smart and paranoid and he’s bound to doubt Claire’s identity. He will certainly force himself to recall what happened six years ago.
Since knowing that Claire appears in front of Leo with her original face, Luke has had such psychological preparation.
But he is worried about his friend. He does not forget the doctor’s warning that year.
The atmosphere is a little heavy and nobody speaks. Both of them are waiting anxiously.
An hour later, the door of the operating room finally darkens, but they don’t relax. An operation usually lasts several hours. Why is it so fast today?
Is Leo dead?
The door of the operating room opens. The doctor takes off his mask and gloves and walks to Claire and Luke. He sighs and says, “your friend has been ill for many years. He lost his memory and has a blood clot in his brain. Although it does not affect his normal life, as long as his cerebellum is exercising violently due to emotional problems...”
“Normally, if he forces himself to recall certain memories, he will have a headache. The blood clot hit his brain stem and caused the present situation...”
“We know it. Please say the point. How is my friend now?” Luke impatiently interrupts the doctor.
“All right.” The doctor sighs and shakes his head helplessly. “We can’t operate on your friend. The brain is the most important organ of human beings and every nerve in it is very important. Usually we don’t dare to operate on the head because the risk is too high. In short, we can’t treat him because the risk is too high. He may be in danger if he has an operation. What’s more, his blood clot is too difficult to take out...”
When it comes to the end, the doctor can’t bear it. “The patient’s condition is temporarily stable after rescue, but you must remember not to stimulate him, or he may die.”
The doctor nags and talks to Claire and Luke for a long time. Finally he says, “he has been transferred to the senior ward as you requested. Go and see him.”
“OK, thank you.” Luke nods seriously. He takes Claire to Leo’s ward to see him.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
