Luke stops and can’t talk anymore. He looks miserable. He lowers his head and sighs again.
Luke has sighed many times in a row today. He is in a bad mood.
“But what?” Claire is worried. She can’t help but hold Luke’s shoulder and bow and ask him.
“The doctor said...” Luke looks at the ground and tries to say, “the doctor said he may never wake up...”
“What! What does that mean?” Claire is shocked by Luke’s answer. Why is Luke’s words different from Conan’s? Conan said Leo is dying. Why is he unconscious now and will never wake up!
What is Leo’s situation now!
Claire is so worried that she is about to jump up. She can’t help pushing Luke. Her voice becomes flustered. “Tell me! Is Leo alive or dead now? I have to go in and see him.”
With that, Claire gets up and wants to go to the ward.
“Claire, wait...” When Claire finishes, Luke looks up and tries to stop her. But Claire can’t stay calm and runs quickly to the door.
Luke sighs helplessly and follows Claire into the ward.
Claire stumbles almost all the way into the ward. She can’t help crying when she sees Leo lying motionless and pale in the hospital bed.
At the moment, Leo is not arrogant at all. He lies in bed quietly and is like a dead man.
Seeing Leo, Claire feels her heart hollowed out for a moment. It’s empty. She feels a sharp chill when the wind blows.
Claire falls on Leo’s bed and can’t help reaching out and pulling his big hand. She murmurs, “Leo, Leo, wake up! You shouldn’t be in bed!”
Claire thought Leo was going to die, and she was in a panic all the way. She wanted to fly to the hospital to see him at once.
Now she knows that Leo won’t die, but he may not wake up in his whole life. It’s a bigger blow to Claire. She can’t accept the fact. Leo is lying in bed like a vegetable. What’s the difference between him and the dead?
Claire looks at Leo and shakes her head in tears.
“Leo! Why are you so cruel? Do you think that if you pretend to be unconscious, I will forgive you and put down the hatred for you? No I won’t forget you killed my father. I will never forgive you!”
So Claire doesn’t regret what she has done, because it has happened and it can’t be changed! But because of this, Claire hates herself deeply! It is because of her that people around her are harmed like this!
This kind of mood makes Claire lose her temper, because she doesn’t know that she has unconsciously fallen in love with Leo! That’s why she feels so ambivalent at the moment.
In the face of Claire’s roar, Luke is both happy and worried. Claire’s performance proves that she has Leo in her heart, but she is a little emotional. He is afraid that she will do something.
And they’re in the ward. Leo just had an operation. He can’t rest in a noisy environment.
Luke sighs helplessly. He can’t help but reach out and hold Claire’s shoulder and touch her head with one hand. He whispers, “well, stop crying, Leo will be OK. He survived. He will surely wake up later. Don’t worry too much.”
Claire looks down and stands in front of Luke. She cries like a child for the first time. It suddenly occurs to her that Leo said he must make her cry in front of him. Fortunately, Leo doesn’t wake up, or he will laugh at her.
Leo is a jerk. Since she met him, he has been bullying her and controlling everything.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
