Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn) novel Chapter 192

Lillian felt a sharp sting in her heart at the word "wife," which was like a dagger twisting inside her. Joshua was so fiercely defending Allison! They weren't even engaged, and he was already calling her his wife. How could he?

Emily was fuming, her chest rising and falling with anger. "Joshua, you're part of the Fisher family. How can you side with an outsider?"

Joshua squeezed Allison's hand firmly, meeting Emily's gaze with a steady determination. "My loyalty is to my wife, and that's not changing."

"You... you..." Emily clutched her chest, words faltering in her fury.

"Joshua, please, keep it down. Grandma's heart isn't in the best shape; don't upset her," Lillian pleaded with him.

Joshua let out a dry chuckle, hitting the nail on the head. "Maybe if you didn't stir up so much trouble, she wouldn't be this upset."

Lillian was left speechless, her insides swirling with anger and frustration.

"Alright, enough. Let's head to the screening room," Allison said icily.

At the end of the banquet hall, there were six elevators, three on each side. Each could carry fifteen people, transporting up to ninety guests at once.

Allison raised her voice, "I can't stand being falsely accused. Anyone interested can come with me to the screening room to watch the surveillance footage."

Many guests eagerly followed Allison to the elevators, whispers buzzing again.

"Looks like Ms. Allison is innocent. She can have everything she wants. Why would she make a fuss over a dress?"

"I agree. There's something fishy about that Fisher family adopted girl. If she's got nothing to hide, why not let everyone see the footage?"

"When they were badmouthing Allison earlier, I wanted to speak up. Lillian's gaze at Joshua is off. There's more than sibling affection there."

"Yeah, she definitely has feelings for Joshua that aren't just family. It doesn't look like mere sibling affection to me."

"Ooh, a forbidden romance? This is getting juicy. High society is always full of drama."
