Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn) novel Chapter 229

Chris was the kind of guy who turned heads—tall and lean with broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and legs that seemed to go on forever. He dressed to impress, wearing designer threads that made him look like he'd just stepped out of a magazine. His face was strikingly handsome, and his smile? It was the kind that seemed innocent enough to put anyone at ease.

When Chris wanted to play the part, no one could ever guess that he was the kind of guy who might have a criminal record as long as your arm.

Allison had never crossed paths with Chris before. When he called her name and she noticed his high-end attire, her first thought was that he might be one of those friends-of-a-friend types who pop up at parties.

Chris skipped the formalities. He looked at Allison with a knowing smile. "You're quite cute," he said casually.

Next to him, Yara's brow furrowed for a moment, a flash of jealousy flickering in her eyes before she masked it. She didn’t know about Chris' issues with the Fisher or Owens families and never poked her nose into his dealings with other girls. A good lover, she believed, was supposed to be compliant and sensible, not asking risky questions.

Yara stood silently by Chris, subtly sizing up Allison. Yes, she was a natural stunner—glowing skin, delicate features, all without the telltale signs of cosmetic enhancement. Her figure was just right, with a slim waist and long legs, giving her an effortlessly elegant look.

Allison didn’t catch Yara’s gaze. The man’s cheeky comment rubbed her the wrong way. Something about his demeanor made her uneasy. The way he looked at her felt predatory, with an unsettling mix of amusement and boldness.

Allison, feeling a bit miffed, asked again, "Who exactly are you?"

"Me?" Chris chuckled, dodging the question. "You'll know soon enough, Ms. Allison. This isn't the last you'll see of me."

Weird.

Allison chose not to engage any further, sidestepping him to settle her bill at the counter.

Joy, tagging along, couldn't help but sneak a peek back as they were leaving. "Allison, was that guy a friend of yours? He's drop-dead gorgeous! You don't come across guys like him every day!"
