"I need you to pull the internal files for Reynolds Group," she instructed, her voice as cool as her icy gaze. Her fingers, pale and slender, drummed a steady rhythm on the steering wheel. "Also, get me a reliable private investigator. I've got to look into Shawn."

"Sure thing, Miss," came the response.

With a flick of her wrist, Allison tossed her phone onto the passenger seat, hit the gas, and the car purred to life.

The city was slipping into dusk, streetlights flickering on like stars. It was rush hour, and the roads were packed tighter than a tin of sardines. Her sleek black Rolls-Royce Phantom was just another car in the never-ending traffic jam that could drive anyone nuts.
