Chapter 86
Chapter 86
She suddenly looked up and locked eyes with Joshua’s worried gaze.
Joshua pulled her in close. “Allie, what’s going on? Why are you in such a rush?”
“Joshua…” was all Allison could muster before someone came chasing after her.
Jack had followed her outside, quickly sized up the situation and seamlessly acted like a bystander, casually slipping away from Allison’s side.
“You little bitch, where do you think you’re running to today? I swear I’m gonna…” Mr. Hank cursed as he caugh up, only to freeze when he saw Allison wrapped in another man’s arms. Behind him were four intimidating bodyguards. Mr. Hank went instantly silent.
The man was none other than the CEO of Fisher Corporation!
For a moment, Mr. Hank’s face was a cocktail of shock and fear, leaving him speechless.
“Damn! This bitch can really run!” Mr. Adams, who had been tailing closely, skidded to a stop, eyes wide with
terror.
Joshua stepped in front of Allison, his stare cold as ice, facing the two men.
“Are you… Mr. Fisher?” Mr. Adams stuttered, halting abruptly in disbelief.
Mr. Hank saw Joshua shielding Allison and instantly grasped the mess he was in.
Did this girl really know Joshua?
In Oak Lake, anyone in business would jump at the chance to get in good with the Fisher family. Though Hank and Adams were company executives, they never imagined they’d be in the same orbit as the CEO of Fisher Corporation.
Joshua’s jaw was set, his expression as stormy as a brewing tempest.
Mr. Hank quickly slapped on a fawning smile. “Mr. Fisher, do you know Allison?”
Joshua didn’t waste words on them. The filth they spewed was enough for him to piece everything together. He gave a nod to his bodyguards. The four bodyguards took the cue and restrained the two men.
Allison spilled the whole story to Joshua, leaving nothing out.
Joshua took her hand. “I’ll get you home.”
Allison obediently followed Joshua out, glancing back after a few steps. “What are you going to do with those two?”
Joshua’s tone was icy. “Give them a lesson they’ll never forget.”
Allison climbed into the car with Joshua.
The driver looked surprised to see Joshua coming back. “Mr. Fisher, are we heading back now?”
“To Lakeside Residences,” Joshua said.
Then, turning to Allison, he asked, “Why didn’t you bring the bodyguards I assigned to you?”
Allison hesitated. Who would have thought a simple business meeting could turn into such chaos?
She mumbled, a bit sheepishly, “I… I didn’t expect anything like this…”
Joshua sighed softly, “Make sure to take them with you next time.”
Allison nodded earnestly. “Okay.”
