Goodbye, Mr. Regret novel Chapter 265

Herbert wasn’t any less angry just because Jessica tried to stop him.

What Timothy had done to Jessica was simply unforgivable.

The girl they all called Little Mute couldn’t speak, and all her family was gone. Life had already handed her more than enough pain.

If she’d agreed to marry Timothy, it was certainly out of genuine affection.

And how had Timothy treated her in return?

Every time Herbert thought about all those nights Little Mute must have spent crying herself to sleep because of Timothy’s relentless cruelty, his heart twisted with pain and fury. He wanted nothing more than to take a swing at Timothy himself, knowing even that wouldn’t be enough to vent his anger.

But he understood why Little Mute was worried—so he forced himself to rein in the raw aggression that threatened to spill over.

“I’m sorry. I lost my temper,” he muttered.

Meanwhile, Timothy let go of Vince’s hand and strode off toward the main entrance of Lawson Enterprises.

He couldn’t stand to see Jessica right now.

“Timothy…” Vince called after him, following close behind.

Herbert shot them a glance, then turned to Jessica. “Let’s go.”

He didn’t want Jessica standing out here any longer.

What kind of attitude was that from Timothy, anyway? Playing the gallant protector for show, then walking off without a word.

Jessica had no desire to linger at the entrance to Lawson Enterprises either. She picked up the golf club she’d dropped and followed Herbert to the car.

She knew she’d have to talk Herbert down later.

Inside, Timothy made a beeline for the ground floor restroom.
