Her stomach felt sour when she swallowed it, and she almost
threw up.
Frightened that Harper would be worried, she endured it and managed to keep the bite down.
Harper was probably in a pens mood after talking to Damian and didn’t notice anything wrong with Taya.
“Harper, did Damian tell you how many debts his family
owes?”
“Yes.”
Harper nodded. After a pause, she told Taya how much money they owed.
“Two hundred thousand. But he took his own money to go
back to his parents, not mine…”
Harper was afraid that Taya would be,worried about Damian taking advantage of her, so she tried to comfort her by telling her that her personal finances weren’t affected by what was

Harper paid for the mortgage of the house Damian had bought in his pack’s Arcadia neighborhood, but now that they were mated, Damian didn’t let her control any money.
She’d heard of males becoming more controlling after mating, and she wasn’t sure if that was what was happening, if something had changed with his wolf after the mating
ceremony.
If Taya knew that the money Harper earned after getting mated was used to pay off the mortgage and cover their daily expenses, she would probably be angrier.
