“Exactly. You’ve really misunderstood, we were just-“Cecilia chimed in, trying to explain as well. 

Before she could even defend herself, Isabella cut her off sharply, “Are you sure your mouths didn’t collide when you fell?” 

Both Cody and Cecilia immediately denied it, but Isabella wasn’t buying it. 

“Oh really? You might want to wipe off that lipstick smudged all over your lips before you continue with your excuses,” 

Isabella’s words immediately drew everyone’s attention to Cody and Cecilia’s lips. Though Cecilia’s lipstick was a subtle, natural shade, the smudges at the corners of her mouth were still noticeable. As for Cody, the evidence was even more glaring–his lips were stained with a different color, unmistakably from Cecilia’s lipstick. The kiss must have been passionate enough to leave its mark all over his mouth. 

Christopher chuckled. “If you’re going to cheat, at least learn how to cover your tracks. You’re downright 

amateur. 

The Quirks couldn’t help laughing out loud. 

Cody and Cecilia were left speechless, unable to defend themselves any longer. They could only wipe their lips, which did nothing but confirm Isabella’s accusation. 

At that moment, the atmosphere shifted. Everyone’s perception of them changed drastically. Cody, the eldest son of the Simmons family, caught in such a scandal? It’s almost beyond belief. 

Isabella smirked. “If nothing else, they’ve certainly mastered the art of lying. No shame, no hesitation- makes you wonder how many times they’ve fooled Janice before.” 

The turn of events this time was quite unexpected. Without much thought, she exposed the shameless couple on the spot. Although Isabella was concerned about whether Janice would be able to accept it, she couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. After all, she was the lady of the family and had to look out for those under her.

Isabella then turned to Janice and said, “Do you see now? You’ve been deceived.”

As she spoke, Janice laid bare her own heart, forcing herself to confront the painful truth. The so–called sweet memories she once cherished were nothing more than illusions, distorted by the rose–colored glasses she had been wearing.

Cody was still acting as if he was doing Janice a favor by deeming her worthy of being his girlfriend, as if she should be grateful for the title. It was truly nauseating. 

For a brief moment, Janice felt the urge to argue back, to remind him that it was he who had made the fir move, confessing his feelings and thus making her fall for him.
