He states his terms outright. If Mirabelle were to kneel before him, bow her head in apology, and drink an entire bottle of wine, he would agree to collaborate… He shouldn’t be playing the role of a domineering celestial lord, but rather a tyrannical CEO. Doesn’t he feel any shame uttering such words?

Overwhelmed by humiliation, Mirabelle runs out.

Afterwards, Danielle scolds Maverick, who, finding it bothersome, makes the excuse of feeling suffocated to leave by himself. Danielle tries to stop him but fails, even spraining her ankle in the process. Therefore, Hendrick stays behind to take care of Danielle.

Danielle kindly urges him to go out and find Maverick, but he turns a deaf ear. This Hendrick is certainly a carefree soul.

Alexander thought, “This is strange. What is he thinking?”

Isabella was also feeling puzzled when she suddenly heard a commotion from outside.

Maverick’s voice was hoarse, as if he was suppressing a raging fury. He demanded, “Why are you running? Can’t you face me?

“M–Move aside…”

Mirabelle extended her delicate, pale wrist, pressing it against Maverick’s chest. However, the difference in their strength made her efforts futile, further infuriating Maverick.

Maverick seized Mirabelle’s hands with one hand, pinning them above her head. She tried to struggle, but felt powerless, like a delicate beauty toyed with by at man’s whim. She could only lift her head, tears filling her eyes as she looked helplessly at Maverick.

This sort of scene might come off as cliché on TV almost like a soap opera moment. But witnessing it in real life, well… As a bystander, it truly stirs up a whirlwind of emotions, like a rollercoaster ride. There’s embarrassment, a dash of shame, and a surprising dose of excitement all mixed into one.

Her voice was soft and delicate, enough to make Isabella’s ears tingle. Instinctively, she rubbed her ear against Alexander’s chest, hoping for comfort, but it seemed she had chosen the wrong spot. Now, it was Alexander who felt the tingling

sensation.

When Mirabelle attempted to resist, she was swiftly forced back by Maverick’s overpowering strength.

Is he trying to convey that, given they are on the same level, if Mirabelle can love Hendrick,
