Chapter 36 Sad Darcy
“A woman?” Darcy frowned.
“Yeah. She looks rich. She had a chauffeur driving her around in a Maybach. Judging from her looks and presence, she must be a powerful woman in the business world. Even Mr. Bandino from the Heavensward Group respected her.”
Kelly observed Darcy’s reaction closely. She asked, “You don’t know about it? Kaze bought the furniture using that woman’s money. Do you know why I failed the interview? Because I bumped into your husband and that woman together that day. They were…”
She rolled her sleeves up.
“Look at this. Mr. Bandino already agreed to hire me but because of what your husband said, I was thrown out by the security guard.”
Darcy did not expect something like that to happen.
“Kelly, are you serious?”
Kelly nodded. “What? Do you think I’m lying to you? I lost my job and got thrown out in public. Why would I lie to you with something so embarrassing?”
Darcy was suspicious.
Kaze barely knew Kelly. Why would he ruin her chance at the
interview?
Unless Kelly caught him doing something else.
Besides, they had just moved into Horizon Mirror Mansion. If Kelly got the job at Heavensward Group, she might have more chances to bump into Kaze.
Kelly was delighted to see Darcy’s suspicion.
She took her phone out and showed Darcy a picture. “Darcy, believe me. I am not lying to you. I even got a picture of him and that woman getting into a car.”
When Darcy saw the picture, her expression changed.
She saw the woman in the picture last night!
When she went home with her parents after the stroll in Skylar View District, she saw that woman coming out of the house. She asked Kaze who the woman was and he claimed she was just a friend.
Kelly seized the chance and added fuel to the fire that she started in Darcy’s heart. “Darcy, Kaze isn’t taken seriously at home, so he’s trying to gain affirmation from someone else. I can understand that.
“But no matter the reasons, it does not justify his actions. Think about it. The mistresses of the rich men are always looked down upon by others. If it was a man, it would be worse.”
“Enough!”
Darcy slammed the table suddenly, frightening Kelly.
Her expression turned grim. She pulled her phone out and made a call.
“Hello? Darcy? Have you eaten? Do you want me to pick you up for
lunch?”
Kaze’s voice came through the phone.
Darcy said coldly, “Kaze, I want your honest answer. Who is that
woman from yesterday?”
Kaze did not expect Darcy to call him to ask about Snow.
“I told you yesterday, she was just a friend.”
“Kaze, you know the consequences of lying to me. I want the truth.”
“I am telling the truth.” He sensed something wrong with Darcy, so he asked, “What’s wrong with you today, Darcy? Why are you asking about this?”
“Stop calling my name!” Darcy shouted. “Kaze, I gave you a chance, but you lied to me. I will move out of Horizon Mirror later. Staying there disgusts me!”
Darcy hung up on Kaze. The tears that she had been holding back burst uncontrollably.
She thought of the tough times she had been through with Kaze.
Kaze held a party for her birthday, put the Goddess’ Heart on her neck, and even scolded Master Quint when the extended family took advantage of her.
