Guide Me If You Dare novel Chapter 51

Chapter 51: AGENDA

"YUNO-YA, why do you want to keep those bastards alive?"

Aigoo.

Gayoon Hyung is already calling me so fondly.

"Ah, I know," Ki Gayoon said in a serious tone. "You want me to torture them first, right? I can do that."

"It’s not like that, Hyung," Yuno said while shaking his head. "I want to sue them."

"What?"

"I’ll sue them for attempted rape."

Ki Gayoon knitted his eyebrows as if he was confused. "Why? It’s easier and more satisfying to torture those bastards before killing them."

"Ahjuhyung, you’re never beating the gangster allegations."

"Why am I ’Ahjuhyung’ again?"

"I’ll call you that when you do or say things I don’t like."

"So, you’ll stop cursing my hairline now?"

"No."

Ki Gayoon looked surprised, but he just chuckled in the end.

Someone is in a good mood, huh? Since Gayoon Hyung is in a good mood, let’s make him useful.

"Can you bring those fugly bastards to the police station, Hyung?"

Ki Gayoon’s ears almost perked up— obviously delighted by being called ’hyung’ again. "Alright, if that’s what you want."

Heh.

This is easy.

"Go first, Hyung," Yuno said while pulling his phone out of his pocket. "I’m just going to call Sajangnim and ask for his help."

Ki Gayoon knitted his eyebrows. "You already have me, so why do you need that sly fox’s help?"

"Hyung doesn’t have connections with the media, right?"

"Of course, I don’t. I hate reporters the most."

"See? Sajangnim has a good relationship with the media."

My boss also has a few reporters on the payroll because he’s a sly fox for a reason.

Anyways...

"So, bring those fugly bastards to the police station first, Hyung," Yuno said, already glued to his phone. "I need to have a meeting with Sajangnim in the meantime."

***

"WE SHOULD just kill them."

Aigoo.

Yuno couldn’t believe that his business-minded boss said something he only expected from Ki Gayoon. "Sajangnim, don’t you think this is the perfect opportunity for us to release that new HoneyMoon Line that we’ve made together?"

That was exactly why he asked Ki Gayoon to head to the police station first— to discuss business with Moon Noa.

And that was why the two of them were having coffee at Hwarang Hotel’s Brilliant Café.

Of course, Yuno ended up telling Moon Noa what happened.

That I was almost sexually assaulted by two Espers.

"It seems like I raised you wrong, Yuyu."

You didn’t raise me, sir.

Yuno knew Moon Noa would be hurt if he said that, so he just kept his mouth shut.

"Yuyu, are you alright?"

"I’m fine, Sajangnim."

"Are you really fine?"

Ah.

It was awkward when Yuno realized that Moon Noa was genuinely worried about him.

Because it’s embarrassing that he’s worried about a grown man like me.

"Sajangnim, I know what you’re thinking and it’s not like that," Yuno said carefully. "I’m not blaming myself even though I know I was attacked because of my scent."

E-Class Guides could only dedicate their lives to one Esper.

But before an E-Class Guide finds their "the one," their scent will attract Espers. Unfortunately, our scents drive Espers crazy. freewebnσvel.cѳm

That was why Yuno was surprised and amazed that Ki Gayoon hadn’t lost his senses.

"Yuyu, it will never be your fault."

"I know that now, Sajangnim."

There was a time when Yuno blamed himself and his scent.

But not anymore.

"And that’s exactly why I want to do this, Sajangnim," Yuno said determinedly while clenching his hands tight. "Isn’t this our plan all along, sir? To boost the morale of Guides who are being mistreated by Espers?"

Many people believed Moon Noa was a sly fox maneuvering the "scenes" from behind in order to get what he wanted: Ryu Sungbin.

Well, I wouldn’t say that Sajangnim wasn’t obsessed with Ryu Sungbin.

But Yuno wouldn’t follow Moon Noa if his boss’ only goal was to get back his former Esper-slash-lover.

My ideals align with my boss.

"Go to your therapist after this, Yuyu."

"Yes, sir."

Moona Noa looked at Yuno worriedly before he let out a sigh. "Fine, let’s do this— and let’s make this bigger than your original plan since anything less than ’spectacular’ will only ruin my reputation as the richest man in the country."

Yuno smiled brightly. "I love your money, Sajangnim."

"Yah~"

WHEN YUNO told Ki Gayoon to bring the bastards who assaulted him to the police station, he actually meant the Awakened Police Department (APD).

Sajangnim is busy with the other thing that I asked him to prepare.

We have to do it again anyway since I haven’t told Hyung about my scent yet and how it affects other Espers.

And then I met those fugly bastards in the morning.

["Ahjussi, are you saying your bedroom skills suck?"]

["What?"]

["You’re probably not good in bed if you think you just have to put it in. Ahjussi, if we’re going to do it in the future, at least let me come."]

Is Hyung embarrassed or...?

Oh, he’s mad and not embarrassed.

Heh.

So, Hyung is holding back for me.

"Let’s go, Hyung," Yuno said, extending his hand to Ki Gayoon. "Hold my hand. I’ll give you Guiding."

Ki Gayoon knitted his eyebrows, but he grabbed Yuno’s hand. "I’m not complaining, but why are you giving me Guiding?"

"Because I’m sure you’ll be pissed off at the agents later."

"Huh?"

"Hyung, promise me that whatever you hear later, you won’t talk or act violently."

"I’m a violent person with a nasty temper— you’re asking too much from me, Noh Yuno."

Aigoo.

That’s not something you should be proud of, Hyung.

"Just promise me you’ll keep quiet, Hyung," Yuno said in a serious tone. "If you do, I’ll stop cursing your hairline for a week."

Ki Gayoon looked at him in disbelief, but in the end, he burst out laughing as if he found Yuno funny. "Alright, I’ll keep my mouth shut."

***

I SHOULDN’T have made that promise.

Ki Gayoon immediately regretted the promise he made to Noh Yuno as soon as they were talking to the agents.

These bastards don’t fear for their lives, huh?

"Guide Noh Yuno-ssi, we’ll keep the Espers here for one night and then deport them back to their country first thing in the morning. According to their statement, they are Espers who have just gone out of a dungeon. Hence, they didn’t recognize you as Esper Ki Gayoon’s Guide. They regret what they did, so—"

"If I wasn’t an S-Class Esper’s Guide, would they feel sorry for attacking me?" Noh Yuno cut off the old APD Agent coldly. "I’m sure that if I wasn’t Esper Ki Gayoon’s Guide, you would have just told me to get over it, sir."

The agent flinched, but he couldn’t refute.

Ki Gayoon clenched his jaw tight.

He hated how Noh Yuno was so calm as if this wasn’t the first time that something like this happened to me.

And the saddest part?

It wasn’t probably the first time, and it definitely wouldn’t be the last.

Guides are always prey to Espers, after all.

For the first time in a long while, Ki Gayoon hated being an Esper.

"Sir, I won’t withdraw the complaint I filed," Noh Yuno said firmly. "I’m going to sue those bastards and make sure they’ll rot in jail."

Ki Gayoon was proud of Noh Yuno at that moment.

He had always liked the punk’s brazen attitude, after all.

However...

He’s being too soft.

Ki Gayoon wondered how he’d kill the bastards who assaulted Noh Yuno and make it look like an accident.
