Harvey York's Rise to Power novel Chapter 280

After approximately ten minutes, a black Mercedes Benz S-class stopped there. After that, a man in a white suit got out of the car slowly.

There were two bodyguards behind them. They seemed ferocious. At first glance, they seemed quite exceptional in fighting.

The heir of the Brookes, Kane Brooke, was so daring to offend even York Enterprise just because he thought that Liam Stone was on his side.

After Mandy Zimmer’s gathering that time around, the Brookes received a hard lesson from Liam. Now, they had suffered a slightly great loss.

There was a saying which claimed that even a lean camel was bigger than a horse. Although the Brookes were quite miserable lately, they were still so much better than the ordinary people even after the repeated losses they suffered in the business field.

Recently, a lot of bad things went wrong. Hence, Kane suffered quite a deep wrath. After he got a call from Jerry Zabel, he heard that the woman whom he had his eyes on, Shirley Ryan had been kidnapped by Jerry. Kane then rushed toward that place happily.

That girl had never had a boyfriend. Maybe he could make use of that innocent young girl that night to bring some good luck for himself and see if he was able to wash away his bad luck.

The moment he got out of the car, Kane did spout any nonsense. He then said directly, “Where is she?”

At that moment, Jerry acted like an obedient slave. He soon went toward Kane shamelessly. He then nodded and bowed down to Kane, “Mr. Brooke, you’re here at last. Today, you need to help to seek justice for me!”

Shirley’s face was pale, and it was drained of color now.

‘I’m screwed. This devil is here now. I don’t know how miserable I have to suffer tonight.’

Thinking of that, Shirley wanted so vehemently to die there and then. She was a traditional woman, and she could not accept those things. She would much rather choose to die instead of living in humiliation and shame.

At that moment, Kane did not even bother about Jerry. He stepped forward. He then narrowed his eyes, smiled and said, “Shirley, certainly we’ll bump into each other. I touched you slightly before once, and you gave me a slap. Unexpectedly, you fell into my hands today.” He burst into laughter.

Shirley bit her lips, and she did not even dare to look at Kane. She then said with deep grieve “Harvey, hurry up and leave. Go and report to the police…”
