Harvey York's Rise to Power novel Chapter 287

“You must not keep this kind of man with you. Daughter, as long as you divorce him, I’ll find a good and obedient son-in-law who is so much better than him!”

“Besides, he might have gotten some kind of strange disease. What if you get it from him? It’s so frightening!”

Lilian Yates patted her chest ceaselessly, and she appeared quite frightened as she thought about that. If there was indeed such a scandal, Senior Zimmer would certainly disown their entire family and kick them out of the Zimmers.

“Try to think about it. Zack Zimmer is now worried about not having the chance to bring you down! If ever he knows of this incident, he’ll certainly have another excuse to find faults with you!

“It’s not easy for you to gain such a status in the Zimmers now. You can’t ruin your future just because of a man who’s just a worthless piece of trash!”

“Mom, stop talking!”

Mandy Zimmer was quite vexed at that moment. At one point, she thought about how Ella Graves looked at Harvey York. At another point, she thought about how Harvey looked at her. Occasionally, that kind of image would emerge in her mind. She could not help but to guess what happened during the previous night.

She wanted to believe Harvey, but how could she do that? That guy was even reluctant to explain himself.

“Silly girl, are you really touched by what he said? I’ve been through this. Let me tell you. If men are reliable, then pigs could really fly! They are so good at lying. If they tell you about ten things, you’re still being lied to by them even though you believe only a tiny part of what they say. Maybe you even feel grateful for them after they cheated on you!” Lilian sounded like she had experienced all those things. She said anxiously.

Mandy frowned and looked at the divorce agreement in her hands. But she said nothing.

Lilian thought that she had persuaded Mandy. At that moment, she continued, “You must divorce him. But my daughter, you need to be clear on one thing. He was the one who went to borrow that eight hundred thousand dollars. That’s his debt. You need to outline that clearly in the divorce agreement. Do you understand that?

“Just let him have all the debts. Hurry up and get the divorce done. I’ll arrange for blind dates for you tonight. Only a young and rich CEO is worthy of you given your current conditions.”

Lilian appeared happy. She looked so much happier than winning a lottery.

“Mom, can you please shut up? This is my own affair. I know how to make decisions and handle this.” Mandy could not help but say, “Moreover, I did indeed use that eight hundred thousand dollars…”

“Fine!” Mandy nodded. “Then I’ll tell him about it tomorrow. I’ll ask him to pay the debt by himself. But I won’t divorce him now.”

“Really?” Lilian was overjoyed. A sum of eight hundred thousand dollars was a great amount.

“My daughter, you don’t want to divorce him for the time being. Why don’t you go the whole hog? Ask him to go and borrow another eight hundred thousand dollars for you! I want to take this chance to give him a test and see how sincere he treats you. If he’s reluctant to go and borrow that eight hundred thousand dollars again, it’ll mean that he doesn’t care about this family anymore!” Thinking of that eight hundred thousand dollars, Lilian considered it inwardly for a short while. She then made another request.

The previous eight hundred thousand dollars were used by Mandy in her advertising company. If they asked for another eight hundred thousand dollars, then that money would be hers. She could then be able to enjoy herself out there in an extravagant manner.

After all, Harvey had owned another person eight hundred thousand dollars, and it would not make much difference if another sum of eight hundred thousand dollars was added to his debt. He still owed that person money.

“Alright.” Mandy thought for a moment. She then nodded slightly. She did indeed care not for that trivial money. But she just wanted to teach Harvey a lesson. Even though he indeed did nothing that time around, she felt that she had to let him know how angry she was.
