Harvey York's Rise to Power novel Chapter 46

Harvey York thought for a while and said, “I will go back later…”

“Is anything the matter?” Mandy Zimmer was curious. Her husband—the live-in son-in-law had never gone out in the past three years. What matter could he have?

Harvey thought for a while and said, “I’m going to work. What else could I do other than that?”

“What kind of job?” Mandy was a little relieved. This useless husband was finally willing to make some progress after three years.

Harvey shrugged and said, “I’m working as an assistant for the classmate who lent me the money. He returned to Niumhi recently. I came to help him buy a car just now.”

Mandy suddenly realized and asked curiously, “What does he do? If he’s working in the construction industry, maybe he can collaborate with our family.”

Mandy was a little anxious while speaking of this. She was afraid that Harvey would tell her that his classmate worked in the construction industry. After all, Mandy knew that she did not have any influence in the Zimmer family, let alone Harvey.

“It’s just a small investment company, and it isn’t good enough to compete in the market.” Harvey said casually. Although he wanted to disclose the truth for a split second, he felt that it was still not the right time after thinking about it carefully.

He noticed that Mandy had gradually changed her view of him in the past three years. She even had a slight affection toward him.

If possible, Harvey hoped that Mandy would like the current him. He did not want Mandy to treat him differently just because he had suddenly become rich again.

Mandy was sensible and she stopped asking after seeing Harvey hesitated to say anything more. She thought for a while and said, “Since you are working now, I will tell my mother later that you don’t need to do the house chores at home. We can just hire a nanny.”

“Okay, it’s your call.” Harvey nodded.

Mandy thought for a while. She suddenly stared at Harvey and said, “Harvey, let me ask you. That day when you were asked to be the hostage and the Zimmer family even treated you like that. Are you mad at us?”

“Of course,” Harvey said. He continued after seeing the slight change in Mandy’s expression, “But I’m not mad at you…”

“Why?” Mandy asked unconsciously.

“It’s because you are my wife.” Harvey rightly smiled. “Isn’t that what I'm supposed to do?”
