Healing my disabled husband novel Chapter 990

Chapter 990 How Could He Bear to Let Her Sacrifice for Him?

Damion was also at a loss with Ivy. He didn't want her to be someone without any aspirations, even though he could afford to support her and would be happy if she was content. In Damion's mind, regardless of one's family background or life experiences, everyone should have their own desires.

These desires didn't need to be grandiose, like making a contribution to the world. It can simply mean finding meaning in one's existence. If someone felt that managing their own family was their lifelong wish, then there was no problem with that as long as it brought them a sense of accomplishment.

Damion didn't want Ivy to be someone who just drifted through life without any goals or ambitions. Of course, Ivy wasn't like that at all; she exceeded Damion's expectations by far.

Before meeting Damion, she had very little opportunity and resources for education and spent most of her time wandering around aimlessly rather than truly living. But after meeting him, he gave her the power of choice and absolute freedom over her own life.

Ivy was constantly learning about herself and what she wanted out of life. The gap between herself and Damion – as well as everyone else in his circle – made her even more determined not to become solely dependent on him.

So she focused intently on building up her career and striving for perfection in everything she did – which proved successful beyond anyone's expectations.

Of course, Ivy knew that having the chance to pursue these things was due largely in part because of Damion's support; therefore, she never wanted to slack off or take anything for granted.

Everyone understood where Ivy stood on this matter, so no one tried persuading her into revolving everything around Damion. They were all too aware it wouldn't work since none of them had such personalities themselves anyway - so why would they expect it from Ivy?

It wouldn't have been fair for anyone involved if they did try pushing such an idea onto Ivy - but thankfully nobody ever did so.

After waiting half a moment while Eden remained silent along with everyone else present there, an almost regretful-looking expression crossed over Ivy's face before she was saying, "Sometimes we do need some greediness. Just one percent missed out like this."

All eyes turned towards Ivy at once - including Damion himself.

Ivy smiled slightly and said, "I'll be done with this project in a month, and after that, I want to take a break."
