Chapter 409
Jared was losing his cool.
He didn’t want to hear a peep from Agnes.
Especially not that dreaded D–word
So, Jared had to shut her up.
Agnes fought back like a wildcat.
She even bit his tongue.
With a mouthful of coppery taste, Agnes couldn’t tell whether it was her blood or Jared’s.
But the difference in strength between men and women was significant.
Despite her years of Taekwondo practice, her strength was like a kitten’s against Jared’s.
Just when Agnes was about to go down, a powerful force ripped them apart.
Jared was yanked back.
While a figure took a stand in front of Agnes.
The boy was icy cool, “How could you do this to Agnes?”
It was Ryder.
He was wedged right between Agnes and Jared.
There was a trace of blood at the corner of Agnes‘ mouth.
His eyes were bloodshot, like a raging lion.
Jared looked at the composed lad in front of him and spoke dismissively, “Agnes? You think you’re worthy to call her that?”
The room fell eerily silent.
Agnes stood behind Ryder, panting heavily.
The tussle with Jared had worn her out.
This man, usually as gentle as a spring breeze.
Turned into a beast when angry, unstoppable.
The door to the room was left ajar.
The housemaids were peeking in from the doorway, but Ryder wouldn’t let them in.
“I won’t let anyone hurt her.”
Jared scoffed, “Ryder, what makes you think you can protect her? Don’t forget, she’s my wife. You have no business meddling in our affairs.”
Jared had always treated Ryder like a friend and mentor, caring for him deeply.
He had never spoken to him in such a hostile tone.
Clearly, his rage had found a new target.
Earlier, he saw Agnes and Ryder chatting and swinging in the yard.
He stood on the second floor and watched them for a long time.
Although he couldn’t hear what they were talking about, he could tell they were enjoying each other’s company.
What’s more, Ryder had even hugged Agnes in the end.
Jared kept telling himself that Agnes must have kept her boundaries with Ryder.
That hug didn’t mean anything.
