Chapter 430 

Her parents were playing hide and seek with her in the yard. 

Filled with laughter, they hid and Agnes set out to find them. 

But Agnes searched high and low, and they were nowhere to be found. 

Then, things took a dark turn, everything turned pitch black, and Agnes found herself standing alone amidst the ruins. 

There was no one, nothing, just her. 

She yelled out, calling for her parents, but there was no answer, she couldn’t even hear her own voice. 

Suddenly, panic struck Agnes, the feeling of being abandoned hit her like a wave rising from the sea, crashing over her and plunging her into the water. And with that, Agnes woke up and sat up immediately. 

She was gasping for air, her chest feeling heavy. 

Her forehead was covered in sweat, and she was drenched in cold sweat. 

Upon waking, Agnes thought to herself, ‘thank God, it was just a dream! 

But when she snapped back to reality, Agnes felt that reality seemed harsher than her nightmare. 

Agnes took another shower and put on clean clothes, 

She was planning to head to the hospital. 

Her phone suddenly rang. 

The call was from 1van. 

Due to her father’s accident, Agnes had put all her work on hold. 

These days, all she wished for was for her father to wake up. 

Agnes thought it must be an urgent work matter, so she picked up the phone. 

Turns out, it was nothing important, just Ivan inviting her to lunch. 

Agnes found it a bit odd. 

She initially didn’t want to go, but Ivan mentioned that Mamie had wrapped up filming and they were going to have lunch together. 

After some thought, Agnes decided to join them. 

The venue was chosen by Ivan. 

Ivan had picked a posh golf club.. 

It didn’t surprise Agnes at all, because it was typical of Ivan to hang out in such places. 

The restaurant was a revolving one in the sky. 

Surrounded by circular glass windows, a sprawling golf course was in full view. 

The sight of the expansive green was soothing and made for a relaxing meal. 

Upon seeing Agnes, Mamie looked concerned. 

She had heard about Preston’s mishap when she was in S City. 

It was big news in the entertainment industry. 

Mamie grabbed Agnes‘ hand, “You’ve lost so much weight, you okay?” 

Agnes forced a smile, “I’m fine, I can handle it.” 

Mamie sighed, “I heard things between you and Jared aren’t going well, what’s up with that?” 

The situation between her and Jared wasn’t something that could be explained in a few words. 

“You’ll get to know in due course.”
