Beatrice thought Agnes was here to just throw a wrench in the works, just to make her embarrassed.

All Beatrice could do was bite her tongue, step forward and say, “This painting is definitely not a fake. If it turns out to be a fake, I’m willing to compensate Mr. Manuel tenfold its price. But if it’s proven to be authentic, then the one spreading rumors will have to pay the price.”

This painting, with its technique and color use, was perfect. It couldn’t possibly be a forgery.

And she had it authenticated by an expert when she bought it. It was definitely not a fake.
