Agnes asked a bit nervously, "How does Tim know about Summer?"
Leo awkwardly replied, "Maybe he saw the news and assumed..."
Agnes immediately understood.
The old man must've thought Nocturne was Jared and Sharon's love child.
Agnes held Nocturne tight, asserting, "No way, I won't let Nocturne go back to the Whitfield family. He has nothing to do with you guys!"
Jared scoffed, "Since Tim already knows, do you really think you can keep it a secret?"
Agnes knew she couldn't hide it any longer, but the situation had spiraled beyond her control.
"Agnes, you wanted to end things between us, right? If you go back with me, I’ll sure it's over between us."
Agnes felt that Jared sounded particularly tired when he said that.
Maybe Sharon had convinced him to let go, but what did Jared mean by "it's over"?
Finally, Agnes followed Jared to the Whitfield Manor.
She hadn't been here in four years, but everything seemed unchanged.
The flowers in front of the villa were in full bloom.
Pink petals were scattered all over the ground, making it feel like a fairy-tale world.
Just as the car stopped, Agnes got out.
The big golden retriever in the yard barked at her.
Agnes turned her head and shouted, "Oscar!"
Oscar seemed stunned.
Then he excitedly rushed to Agnes' feet, rolled over, exposing his belly, and rubbed his nose against Agnes' pants.
Agnes was surprised and said to Jared, "Can you believe Oscar still remembers me?"
"Agnes, you're the only one who's forgotten everything." Jared's voice was cold.
