Berlin dragged Laura straight upstairs, into a room.
Laura was utterly clueless about what was happening, but she could sense the engulfing rage from Berlin.
Berlin had shoved Laura into the room, slamming the door shut with a bang.
Then a slap flew across her face, "You bitch!"
Laura, unprepared, was almost knocked to the ground by the slap, her ears ringing.
Laura turned her head, "Berlin, what the hell has gotten into you?"
Laura was absolutely clueless about the origin of Berlin's anger.
He had called her yesterday, said he was on a business trip in Japan.
But Laura had known for a while that he had been back for two days.
He'd been spending his nights at clubs and bars.
But Berlin was always a playboy, with no shortage of women.
Laura had long gotten used to this.
No matter how many flings he had, all that mattered was that she was the legitimate Mrs. Thomas.
Over the years, they had managed to maintain a respectful relationship.
Berlin had relied on her for his business, treating her with courtesy, never resorting to violence.
But today he was acting violent and strange.
