This woman was identical to Agnes. She looked like a mirror reflection of Agnes, even more than Beatrice who did surgery. But she seemed young, a petite and slender figure with short hair. Her demeanor was quite different from Beatrice's.
Mr. K strolled around the woman, "Hey, what's your name?"
The woman glanced at him nonchalantly, "Agnes."
Mr. K turned to Jared in surprise, "Wow, Jared, she even has the same name."
But something didn't feel right. He looked at Agnes, then back at Jared. Both were gazing at him with an affectionate sort of pity. Finally, Mr. K realized that the person standing before him wasn't a substitute. It was Agnes herself!
Stuttering, Mr. K exclaimed, "Agnes, it's really you."
Agnes smirked at him, "I believe you were just about to give me a lesson."
Mr. K almost fell to his knees. He quickly put on a fawning smile, "Agnes, I wouldn't dare. You know I just like to run my mouth. I might rough up Jared a bit, but I wouldn't dare lay a finger on you. Plus, everyone knows you're a black-belt in karate."
Jared's icy voice came from behind him, "I've been itching for a fight lately, looking for someone to practice with me."
Mr. K suddenly felt like he was caught between a rock and a hard place. He had managed to offend both of them.
Mr. K said, "Agnes, you look stunning today. I've got to go, I've got some work to do."
With that, he opened the office door and bolted. As he left, he muttered, "Damn, Jared is so unlucky. After four years, he's still under the thumb of the same woman. Love is a dangerous thing, I'll never get involved with it, ever."
At that time, Mr. K had no idea how soon he would break his promise.
