Yolanda retorted, "You know exactly what you've done, Agnes. If you can't even respect my position as your Editor, maybe it's time you found another job."
Agnes shot back, "I'm a journalist, Yolanda. Are you saying I don't have the right to publish my articles?"
"Your rights are given to you by me. If I don't approve of your actions, you are overstepping your authority if you take it upon yourself, Agnes. You should resign, Agnes, before I have to report you and tarnish the reputation of this firm."
"I'm not resigning." Agnes countered coldly.
"Agnes, I never knew you could be so shameless. Do you think I don't know what's going on? Why would the Tim Group get involved with these stray animals? They're not a charity. They're a business. I know it's because of your shady relation with Jared. If this gets uncovered, people would say our reporter seduced the CEO. Can you imagine the scandal?"
Agnes, enraged, responded, "You keep accusing me of having an illicit relationship with Jared. Where's your proof? Even if it were true, it's our personal business. Jared called off his engagement. He's single, and we're both single, so we're not violating any societal norms here."
Yolanda was fuming at Agnes' audacity.
As the tension between the two escalated, the office door swung open. Judson walked in and said, "Agnes, there you are. I've been looking for you."
Yolanda got up. "Mr. Judson, what brings you here?"
Judson replied, "Agnes wrote a great piece, and it's getting a lot of attention."
On hearing it, Yolanda visibly paled.
