Ashely's POV
I woke up this morning still very exhausted. A couple of minutes had passed and I'm still laying in bed staring blankly at the ceiling.
"ASHELY! COME DOWN FOR BREAKFAST," my mom yelled from downstairs as I sighed in annoyance, "Great! Now I gotta see the two people I hate most in this world," I mumbled while frustratedly tossing the covers off me.

I walked into the kitchen to see the devil and his son eating their breakfast in silence not acknowledging each other's presence.
"Goodmorning, honey," my mom greeted catching the attention of both men in the room, "Goodmorning, mom," I greeted back as I walked past the table completely ignoring their existences before pecking my mom's cheek before grabbing my plate that was filled with pancakes, strawberries, whipped cream, and syrup before making my way out the kitchen.
"Ashely, don't be rude, aren't you forgetting something?" She asked stopping me in my tracks, "I don't think so, mom," I replied without turning around to face her, "Well, the last time I checked your stepfather and brother was present in the room also," she said as I scoffed still with my back facing her, "And the last time I checked, I was an only child and that my father was dead," I said as she gasped, "Ashely!" She exclaimed, pissing me off to the point where I quickly spin around causing them to flinch at my sudden action.
"You know what, mom, I'm so tired of pretending, pretending to be happy because you're happy," I said catching her off guard as she stared at me in shock, "You know, I really wished you had sat down with me and asked how I felt about another man coming into our lives, but I guess my feelings doesn't matter," I said before shaking my head as a weak laugh escaped my lips.
"Ashely, I suggest instead of accusing your mother of something you know nothing about, you should-
"Funny you say that Mr.Abdonment because that's the same thing I tried to tell your son when he accused my mother of being a b**ch, who broke up your happy little family," I said staring at Jake, who stared blankly back at me as my mother gasp again, "You should really enlighten him on how you were a greedy, selfish, bastard, who ran away from his resp-
SLAP!!!
My head was now facing the other side of the room as my cheek stung from the previous slap I received from my mother.
I didn't cry nor did I feel angry or shock, I just stood there emotionless before slowly turning my head to face her. As I looked into her eyes, I saw a glimpse of guilt before it was consumed by anger.
I gently shoved the plate of food towards her as I didn't have an appetite anymore, "I'm not hungry," I mumbled before leaving the kitchen, heading back up to my room.

(Jake's POV)
After Ashely left the kitchen, I stood up with my plate in my hand as I walked over to the sink as if this entire argument didn't happen.
