"I don't have to kill it," Shannon said word by word as she looked Vlad straight in the eye.
"Because you're about to be abandoned by the Divine Power."
As her words faded away, realization struck Vlad. His gaze snapped to Fennec, who'd remained motionless since the domain was formed.
Even when he was luring malice from the divine souls, she'd shown no reaction.
Now, as Vlad stared at her, she finally moved. Step by step, she walked to Shannon's side and stood shoulder to shoulder with her.
"Vlad," she called softly. Her voice seemed to drift in from the void and sounded so familiar that it was almost impossible to ignore.
Vlad's expression stiffened as he finally recognized who she truly was. She wasn't the half-demon, Fennec, but the Alternate Divine Power.
Shannon calmly continued, "Why did you think I kept listening to your ramblings when Fennec's Divine Power barrier went unanswered?"
Vlad harmed Thalia and nearly stripped her of all her cultivation. According to Shannon, the moment she saw Vlad, she would have made her move and killed him, no matter what fairness the Divine Power claimed.
Whether the Alternate Divine Power was unjust or not had nothing to do with her killing Vlad and doing her justice.
The only reason she'd let him speak so long was to buy time to establish a connection with the Alternate Divine Power.
Fennec bore the Might of the Divine Power and was theoretically capable of communing with the Alternate Divine Power, but she'd never received a response.
After learning from Mike that her Ten-Tailed's domain was connected to the Alternate Divine Power, Shannon decided to try a different way and reach out to the Divine Power herself.
With that, she succeeded.
