"Oh? Go ahead and sue me then," Zidane lazily replied.
Without giving the Divine Power a chance to speak, he continued, "But I'm no longer the Morvahn and not under the jurisdiction of the underworld. That agreement between the underworld and the Divine Power no longer binds me.
"If you wish to sue, file it with the current Morvahn."
He dumped all responsibility onto Morcedai, the current Morvahn, without the slightest sense of shame. And the unbothered attitude he showed infuriated the Alternate Divine Power.
Golden light lit up at its fingers before a flurry of seals shot toward Zidane, radiating golden brilliance.
Zidane frowned. He caught the first three seals mid-air with a raised hand and braced himself to endure the remaining ones.
Just then, golden light and negative energy flashed around him.
Golden chains coiled around the remaining three seals and locked them mid-air, while the rest were completely blocked by a wave of formidable ghastly power.
The first came from Shannon, who'd exited the domain once Zidane appeared, and the second came from an overwhelming presence within the ghost gate.
Amid the green smoke swirling from the ghost gate, a tall figure loomed faintly within the shadows.
He had yet to step out, but those who'd seen him knew exactly who he was. It was Mordecai, the current Morvahn.
From within the gate, he called out coldly to Zidane, "Zidane, you opened a ghost gate in the alternate world without permission; now get back here."
His tone was solemn and commanding, but there wasn't any trace of anger or intention to punish.
Zidane had never intended to face the Divine Power head-on anyway. Mordecai's appearance meant that Velquin and Vlad had safely arrived at the 19th Cavern of Calamity.
So, he obeyed without a fuss for once.
"Got it," he said and turned to head back into the ghost gate.
