Hello, Mr Thomas Grey novel Chapter 16

From the moment Rachel Stuart agrees to marry Thomas Grey, he begins looking for someone to forecast the best days to get married.

At first, Rachel Stuart just wants to get married on any lucky day, but unexpectedly, Thomas Grey is so superstitious that he takes the birth dates of them and goes everywhere to ask for someone for divination.

For the first time, Rachel Stuart knows that a man can be so naive.

When the augur says that their union is made by heaven, he almost gives him all the money in his pocket. If he hears something bad about their marriage, his face would turn cold and he would say his divination is wrong.

But the divination resides where men believe it resides. He doesn’t have to be serious about it.

Rachel Stuart knows a little about metaphysics, but not very much.

She studied it for a while, but then she stopped.

She didn't tell anyone why, but when asked, she just said she didn't want to touch it, she was too tired.

She said no more about it.

She just wants to find someone to select the date, but somehow Thomas Grey finds so many augurs, and each of them has a different date.

“When will you stop?” Rachel Stuart sits down on the bench and looks at the man in the straight suit with resignation in her eyes.

“Let me see…” Thomas Grey still can’t decide.

Some of the dates are fine, but there are some bad days for Rachel Stuart, and though he doesn’t know if they are true, he has to keep the augur’s words in mind.

He would keep everything bad for Rachel Stuart in mind and be careful to keep it out of her way.

“You really don't have to. It's best to let nature take its course.” Rachel Stuart sighs and takes Thomas Grey's hand, “If you keep doing this, I don't think we can get married.”

“No way!” This is something that Thomas Grey would never allow.
