For the past few days she had decided to ignore me, furious that we left our mate.
I quickly went behind the nearest tree and shifted, changing into a pair of shorts and a crop top before rushing out to see Blaine who was leaning against a tree a few feet away. My body wanted nothing more than to push me towards him but I feared rejection, as a distance look loamed in his eyes.
I was shocked as I saw dark bags underneath his eyes, he had been struggling to sleep.
I bit my lip and leaned my body on my left leg while nervously twiddling my thumbs. I didn't quite know why his presence made me so nervous, what happened to the old Kenny? I would usually flat out ask what his problem is but I knew better than to aggravate my mate.
"Why haven't you been meeting me here? Are you...um mad at me?" I asked in a worried tone.
He turned his head to look at me, through his eyes I saw flashes of different emotions running through them but one specifically stood out; hurt.
"My mate purposely left me and you ask if I'm mad?" His voice was calm but I knew better than that. I took a step forward towards him.
"Blaine, I-" His hand shot out blocking me from coming closer to him causing my heart to ache from his rejection.
"You're acting like such a drama queen." I stated frowning annoyed at his attitude, I kept up my half of the deal by meeting him at the boarder every day at twelve and he was mad at me?
"I waited for hours for you! And you're annoyed at me?" I pointed to myself. "I stayed out in the freezing cold even when patrol wolves told me to go home because you weren't going to show, but I stayed hoping that you would!" I shouted, hurt lacing in my voice.
A loud growl rose from Blaine throat as he said, "You left me, practically rejecting our mate bond. And why the hell would your father not demand you go home. You tell me that all he ever wants to do is protect you but why would he allow you to stay out in the freezing cold?"
"This is not about my father Blaine, this is about you! And he did, he had to literally push me all the way back to the house. I want you as my mate Blaine but you're making it so damn difficult! I will not be mates with someone who is willing to treat my family the way you treat mine!"
My blood was boiling with anger and I had no problem in letting Blaine know.
Whereas through hers I was able to see a mixture of emotions from hurt to being unsure.
She decides to ignore whatever internal battle she was having and took the final step towards me leaving no space between our bodies.
She leans towards me and places a lingering kiss on my lips before pulling away ignoring the stares from the audience around us.
I clenched my jaw tightly and forced myself to stay still on the spot as my mate began walking towards her father's car. A low growl of frustration left the back of my throat, annoyed that she was able to move away before I could snake my arms around her waist for another kiss.
Once she maneuvered herself over to the car she gave me one last longing glance over her shoulder before getting in. With two of my most trusted and vigorous protectors following after her although Diego spirited personality was questionable.
The sound of the car doors shutting soon closed off any of our communication and my whole body was screaming at me to open the door and pull her out. My wolf wanted to be constantly holding her to our side and in arms reach at all times.
