Her Dominant Comeback (Nathan and Olivia) novel Chapter 134

Chapter 134 Mistake

Nathan also laughed, holding the little one as he sat down. He gently tapped the youngster’s forehead, asking, Are you uncomfortable?

His voice was very gentle.

Liam’s eyes instantly welled up with tears, responding in a soft whisper, Yes, it’s uncomfortable.

Watching the usually lively child, who was now listless due to illness, was disheartening.

Nathan felt a deep pang of heartache. He held the little one close, saying, I’m here with you.

Olivia turned her face away, her eyes slightly moist. As she watched Liam’s dependence on Nathan, she suddenly wondered if she had made a mistake.

Liam still yearned for a father’s love. Yet, every time, due to her own apprehensions about her feelings, she chose to cast aside

Nathan.

Thus, she wondered if she was being too selfish.

Liam lifted his head, speaking earnestly. I’ll get better tomorrow, though.

Nathan gave a slight smile, nodding. Mhm, things will get better by tomorrow.

Liam leaned his head back onto his shoulder, eyelids growing heavier with each passing moment. Before long, his breathing evened out, indicating that he had fallen asleep.

The hospital room was hushed. The child had fallen asleep, leaving only Olivia and Nathan in silent companionship.

Olivia lowered her head, a helpless tug at the corner of her mouth. They had just met at the underground market, and she hadn’t expected to see him again so soon.

However, he probably didn’t recognize her as the woman from the underground marketplace.

She didn’t notice that Nathan’s gaze had fallen on her, his dark eyes slightly narrowed.

She was dressed in a simple, sleek dress, quite unlike the woman he had met in the evening.

They resemble each other, but they’re different. Nathan mocked himself with a slight curl of his lips. I must be overthinking How could that woman possibly be her?

Olivia was contemplating the words of Harry. Nathan had been injured in the past, and it seemed like the injury was quite

severe.

Thus, she wondered if she should ask about his health.

She moved her lips, but the words that had reached the tip of her tongue were swallowed back down.

In the end, she decided against asking because it might give her away.

Just then, her cell phone rang.

Nathan gazed at her, his brow slightly furrowed.

I need to take a call,Olivia apologized with a rueful smile before quickly stepping out.

Once outside the hospital room, Olivia picked up the phone. Catherine, how’s King doing?

After taking the medicine, King’s condition had temporarily stabilized, replied Catherine.

Hearing Catherine’s words from the other end of the phone, Olivia let out a sigh of relief. That’s good then.

However, Harry had mentioned that King’s illness is not easy to treat. Over the years, his health had been severely overtaxed.

To truly recover, it would be twice as difficult as it would be for an average person.
