After their lunch break, which included some much–needed rest, the family trio eagerly headed toward the ski area for the afternoon’s adventure.
Olivia, still nursing her injuries, found herself unable to partake in the skiing fun. Instead, she settled herself outside, behind. the clear glass, allowing her an unobstructed view of the snowy slopes.
Meanwhile, Nathan was busy getting Liam geared up in his ski attire.
Once they were dressed for the occasion, Liam, bubbling with excitement, made his way over to Olivia. He spun around in a little show–off dance, his face lighting up with eager anticipation as he asked, “Mommy, do you think I look handsome in this
outfit?”
Olivia couldn’t suppress her laughter, responding with warm affection, “Absolutely handsome! You’re the most handsome boy in the whole wide world!
Delighted by his mother’s hearty endorsement, Liam’s smile stretched wider, his eyes twinkling with a mixture of pride and happiness.
What a charming little show–off he is!
Olivia’s eyes filled with love and affection as she watched him; it felt as if her heart might just burst with joy.
It had been ages since she’d seen Liam radiate such pure, unadulterated happiness.
Moved by the moment, she quickly grabbed her phone and started capturing this beautiful memory.
Nathan, observing this heartwarming mother–son interaction, couldn’t help but wear a slight grin, amused by the whole
scene.
“Liam, time to hit the slopes,” he announced, reaching out for his son’s hand.
Eagerly, Liam clasped his father’s hand.
“We’re off then. Call me if you need anything.” Nathan reassured Olivia, turning back toward her for a moment to ensure she was fine before they ventured into the ski area.
Olivia nodded in understanding, her gaze following the duo–one tall and one small–as they disappeared into the bustling
ski area.
It was Liam’s debut on the ski slopes, and understandably, he was no expert. But Nathan was right there with him, gliding gracefully beside him, hand in hand, sharing tips and patiently guiding him through the basics of skiing.
From her vantage point, Olivia found herself inadvertently watching Nathan more than Liam.
Observing Nathan in teaching mode brought a flood of memories crashing back.
There was a time when Nathan had been her teacher in various endeavors–golf, piano, even ballroom dancing.
Olivia hadn’t actually been interested in learning any of those things; it was Nathan who, claiming to need a companion, had insisted she join him.
His teaching method hadn’t changed, though he seemed to have more patience now.
Back then, if she didn’t catch on quickly enough, he’d tap her on the head–a gentle reprimand that was somehow both frustrating and endearing to her.
She’d cover her head, biting back laughter, secretly enjoying their private lessons despite the occasional scolding.
