Chapter 218
After a few moments of silence, Xavier instructed, “Send the schedule for the upcoming competition to Timothy.”
Sarah was taken aback. “You…”
Xavier was set on proving to Lily that he didn’t care, no matter how hard she tried to act otherwise.
“The competition is pretty complicated. How about we grab a meal, and I’ll go over the details with you?” Sarah had purposely come around mealtime.
As the elevator reached the first floor, she didn’t bother asking Xavier why he was heading to the Avelon Designs Competition site.
As they walked outside, Xavier casually slipped his hand into his pocket and asked, “Weren’t you here to see Dr. Blackwood?”
If he remembered correctly, Sarah hadn’t even seen Rowan yet.
“The doctor said he just finished surgery and needs to rest. I’ll come back tomorrow.” Thinking quickly, Sarah offered a half–hearted excuse.
As dusk settled, the city lights began to glow, and the streets outside the hospital buzzed with trattic. The vibrant lights illuminated the entire city of Jadeford.
Xavier stood at the hospital entrance, lighting a cigarette. The smoke swirled upward, momentarily obscuring the sharp lines of his face.
He glanced at Sarah, suddenly recalling how Lily had mentioned her a few times in passing. Now, he was curious to see who would lose their composure first.
“Let’s go.” He turned and walked toward the parking lot.
Sarah quickly realized he had agreed to dine with her and immediately followed.
The foreign restaurant in the city center was packed with couples. This was the best foreign restaurant in Jadeford, known for attracting only the wealthiest and most influential.
Several reporters lottered outside, hoping to catch sight of a big fish
