Chapter 231
The truth was often the hardest thing to hear.
As expected, Xavier’s expression darkened. “You seem to know a lot about relationships. Please, go ahead and say more.”
His words sent a chill down Timothy’s spine. “Sorry, Mr. Fulton, Ioverstepped. I’ll arrange the Avelon Designs Competition schedule for you right away!”
If Xavier insisted on going, it could have been done. Timothy would be required to update hiin on company matters daily.
After speaking. Timothy quickly turned to leave, but Xavier stopped him just as he reached the door.
“I’m not going to Avelon Designs Competition because of Mrs. Fulton,” he said coldly. “I’m going because I’m worried she might embarrass the Fulton family.” Timothy was dumbfounded. Just moments ago, hadn’t Xavier been adamantly saying, “What? Can’t just go see my wife?”
But now, he claimed to be worried about her embarrassing the Fulton family? Wasn’t that exactly because of her?
Besides, who would even know Lily was Mrs. Fulton? If she was embarrassed, the Fulton family had no part in it!
“Yes, Mr. Fulton. Every decision you make is always reasonable. I’ll arrange the schedule and send it to your email,” Timothy responded, feeling conflicted, betore disappearing
Xavier was left alone in the bright office. His gaze darkened, his brows furrowed, and his clenched fist barely hid the tension in his lips as he mulled over something
Aperplexing question, one he couldn’t even explain to himself, emerged from the depths of his mind.
What exactly was he going to Avelon Designs Competition for? It wasn’t for Lily. It wasn’t!
Lily arrived at Lupier without informing anyone, and Nadia wasn’t pleased.
“Is this your company? You come and go without any notice and show up to work without a word?”
“Sorry. I’ve delayed work because of personal matters, and it’s affected the company’s atmosphere. I apologize, Lily replied.
It wasn’t that she hadn’t wanted to give notice, but recently, there had been too many unexpected events, and she couldn’t guarantee her presence unless she was physically at Lupier.
She had messaged Nadia this morning on her way to work, but Nadia had probably been too busy to read it.
“Even if you’ve never worked in a professional environment, you should know that ‘sorry‘ is the most useless phrase in any situation,” Nadia snapped, throwing the files onto the desk with a loud thud.
“So, I’ll take the blame and accept a demotion, working in one of Lupier’s physical stores as a general designer.”
It was a decision she had carefully considered.
It didn’t matter whether she met Lupier’s recruitment requirements. She had already been labeled as someone who had gotten in through the backdoor. To remove that label, she would have to start from the bottom.
Lupier had many stores in various home goods malls, each with its own designer.
