Except for Daphne. Daphne had been working at the company for a while but could only land small orders worth a few hundred to a couple thousand at most. 

After calculating Lily’s commission from that large order, she looked at Lily enviously. “You’ll eam several tens of thousands in commission this month.” 

“I’ll treat you to a meal then,” Lily said, feeling lucky. 

When Cherry came to the company, she was dressed modestly, and since the others were all busy, Lily had the opportunity to attend to her. Fortunately, she understood the rules of competing for clients and firmly chose Lily. 

“Alright. Congratulations in advance!” Daphne gave her a thumbs–up.

“No need. I’m afraid you’ll break my dishes,” Lily said without hiding her dislike. 

Maryanne grinned at the rejection and then seemed to remember something, Pulling out her phone, she asked, “Should I call Terence? He can help!* 

Lily nodded. “Sure. I have a lot of ingredients, but I’m not asking him to work.” 

“He’s been getting scolded badly by my dad lately. I thought he could come over and relax a bit instead of being buried in work.” 

Maryanne still had a soft spot for Terence. 

At Nova Group, in the president’s office lounge, Xavier had just finished showering. His short hair was still damp, and his brow was furrowed so tightly it seemed like he could crush a thy with it. 

The empty lounge was neat but not warm. Although he had been staying there for many days, it still didn’t feel like home. 

He dried off, changed into his loungewear, and turned to look at the neatly made double bed. It was cold and uninviting. 

He couldn’t help but think of Lily’s soft, delicate body. Her skin was always cool, no matter the season, but it was so soft and comforting to hold her in his arms. 

Even in winter, Xavier didn’t mind her cold body against him. It was just the right balance to cool down his burning desires, and eventually, as she grew warmer, they would both sweat 

Two years wasn’t long, but he had gradually gotten used to Lily’s presence. Now, he felt especially out of place. 

It wasn’t that he couldn’t forget her. It was just that he had become accustomed to that land of life. 

He grabbed the cigarette from the table, lit it, and took a drag. The nicotine dulled his senses, but it couldn’t fill the emptiness in his heart. It was just a physical emptiness, still unrelated to her. 

Outside the lounge, the phone rang for a long time before he snapped out of his thoughts and answered it. 

“Mr. Fulton, we’ve thoroughly investigated the owner of the phone numbers. He sold both numbers entirely through remote operations.
