Landon and Nadia would’ve been a tool if they hadn’t realized by now that Xavier was deliberately targeting Lily 

But realizing it only made them more reluctant to stick their necks out for Lily. On the other hand, taly had know from the beginning that Xavier had deliberately come to make things dinica for her. 

She stood while avser sat, yet the air of arrogance and dignity radiating from him overshadowed her entirely. 

“Mr. Fulton, how many glasses would you deem appropriate? I’ll drink straight from the bottle if you’re not satisfied How about that?” she said. 

Her defiant words made Xavier’s face darken in an instant. He replied leisurely, “That depends on how sincere Ms. Joyner’s apology is.” 

Lily grabbed the bottle and drank directly from it as soon as he finished speaking 

The fiery liquid burned her throat as she gulped down one mouthful after another. She drank so aggressively that same spilled from the comers of her mouth, soaking her shirt and revealing the faint outline of her light purple bra beneath. 

“Lily, slow down.” Landon worried that she would be wasted and cause trouble. 

He grabbed a napkin before he stood up to snatch the bottle from her hand and handed the napkin to her “Wipe your mouth. You can’t drink like this. It’s not good for you.” 

Lily was slightly choked on the drink as tears streamed from her eyes. She accepted the napkin and covered her mouth before she ran toward the restroom 

The temperature was slightly cooler outside the private room. A window at the end of the hallway was open, letting in a cold breeze that only made her head feel hotter. 

The faucer’s water was slightly icy, splashing against her face with a refreshing coolness. She felt a bit more clear–headed as she gripped the edge of the sink and lost herself in thought. 

Suddenly, footsteps echoed behind her. She caught a glimpse of a figure approaching in the mirror. 

Sheted her gaze and met the man’s eyes through the reflection “Xavier, you promised we’d have nothing to do with each other. You said we’d pretend not to know each other if we meet again!” 

“Could it be you who harbors feelings you shouldn’t have for me? Xaner stood as steady as a pine tree with his hands in his pockets. “Is this how you usually treat your clients?
