Sarah focused her gaze and immediately shot up from her chair. “Xyla, you’re back in the country?
In the video, the sign for Jadeford International Airport was clearly visible behind Xyla
Sarah quickly grabbed her coat and headed out the door. “The weather is so cold, and you came back without even telling me. What did the doctor say about your health?” She was always particularly concerned about Xyla’s health.
“Sarah, where’s Xavier? Can you ask him to come along to pick me up too, please?” Xyla’s words made Sarah stop in her tracks.
Sarah couldn’t hide the disappointment in her expression. “He probably can’t make it”
“He won’t even come to the airport to pick me up, and you said that he would spend Christmas abroad with me. Sarah, is something going on between the both of you?” Xyla had already gotten into a car. The other end of the line went quiet, and she noticed Sarah’s face looked slightly pale on the screen.
She smiled at Sarah “Don’t worry, Sarah. Now that I’m back, I’ll help you with whatever problems you have!”
Sarah sighed softly, “Xyla, I’ll handle my own matters. Don’t worry about it. Where are you now? I’ll come and look for you.”
Xyla had already booked a hotel and sent Sarah the location. Sarah rushed over immediately.
In the end, Lily couldn’t figure out how to start the conversation with Terence about the Bayview Gardens renovation
If she brought it up, at best it would just be a favor she couldn’t repay, but what she teared was that it might go beyond just a favor.
A few days later, Maryanne arranged to meet Lily to sign the Devereux villa’s contract. They agreed to meet at a cafe. Lily arrived ten minutes earlier but saw that Maryanne had gollen there even earlier.
“Well, this is a surprise. You’re not usually one for being early.” Lily said she sat opposite Maryanne and put her bag down.
Before Lily could even finish speaking, Maryanne reached her hand out “Give me the contract quickly. I’ll sign it first so you won’t be delayed later!”
Lily hadn’t even brought the contract at all. If it was about a favor, the one she owed for Bayview Gardens was more than enough. If it wasn’t, she had even less reason to take on the design project for the Devereux villa.
“Maryanne, I’ve given it some thought. It just doesn’t deel appropriate for me to design Terence’s future family home. Let’s just forget it, but thank you.”
Lily knew she could face termination if she couldn’t secure this project
However, she was about to participate in the Avelon Designs Competition finals, and the shop wasn’t going to grant her a two–month leave anyway. She would have no choice but to resign
“What’s this?” Maryanne immediately frowned. “Why are you being so formal with me? My brother loves your designs, and so do my parents!
“We’re helping you out, but if your designs are bad, we’ll definitely ask for revisions. It’s not like there won’t be any demands!”
