Seeing that it was Marshacalling, Suzanne answered in a gentle voice, “Marsha, what’s up?” 

“Babe, let’s go out! I’m so bored.” 

Hearing the excitement in her voice, Suzanne couldn’t help but smile. “I’m already out.” 

“Where? l’comeOver 

Almost instinctively, Suzanne glanced at Austin and asked softh, “Thave a friend who wants to join us. Is that okay? 

Austin nodded. “Your friends are our friends.” 

Charles perked up instantly. “If it’s Suzanne’s friend, we have to 

to roll out the red carpet! 

Suranne’s friends had to be stunning too if he couldn’t pursue Suzanne, maybe he had a shot with me of her friends. This could be his lucky break. His eyes practically spirided with anticipation Suzanne, exasperated, gave Marsha the address and hung up. 

Herman smirked. “I know that look, Charles. Are you up to something again?” 

Everyone still remembered when he had boldly declared his intent to pursue Suzanne. 

Caught red–handed, Charles didn’t even flinch. Putting out his chest, he declared, “A real man appreciates beauty. You guys just don’t get it” 

They continued their banter, and about 30 minutes later, a knock echoed from the door. 

Before Suzanne could react, Charles shot to his feet and botted forward 

“I got it! No one can steal my moment!” 

He adjusted his collar, soothed out his shirt, and flashed his most dazzling smile before swinging the door open. With anticipation, he said warmly, “Welcome” But the moment he saw who was standing outside, his smile vanished. 

“You’ve got the wrong room,” he said flatly. 

With that, be slammed the door shut without a second thought. The entire room fell into stunned silence, 

Outside, Marsha barely had time to process what had happened before the door was shut in her face. Her hand was still raised mid–knock when her brain short–circuited. 

Wait a minute. Wasn’t that the shady doctor from before? What kind of rotten luck was this? She should’ve checked her horoscope before heading out today. 

He temper flared instantly 

Inside, Suzanne assumed someone had genuinely knocked on the wrong door and didn’t think much of it until her phone rang again. 

She picked up “Marsha, where are you?” 

standing in the hallway, Marsha glanced around. “I’m already here, which room are you in?” 

“I’ll come get you,” Suzanne said, already rising from her seat. 

Charles grumbled from his seal “Unbelievable. You guys have no adea what I just saw. opened the door, and there was this… This shrew—” 

His words were lodged in his throat as his eyes widened in disbelief
