Her Hidden Crowns (Suzanne and Austin) novel Chapter 247

Suzanne pointed to a small stool in front of her and said, "Sit here. Take off your shirt."

If it were any other patient, she would have preferred to conduct the examination in a private room out of respect for their privacy. But did Todd deserve that? Clearly not.

Todd glanced at the people in the room, feeling a bit uneasy, but he didn't dare go against Suzanne's instructions. Without hesitation, he took off his shirt. His exposed skin was covered in red blotches—an unnatural sight.

Shane instinctively leaned back in his seat, slightly recoiling.

What a creepy sight!

Todd looked at Suzanne, hesitating as he started to speak. "Dr. Smith, you—"

"Don't talk," she cut him off.

Without another word, Suzanne pulled out her silver needles and swiftly inserted one into Todd's back, her movements noticeably faster than usual.

Shane had the distinct impression that she was trying to avoid touching Todd as much as possible.

Well, that was understandable. The less contact with someone this repulsive, the better.

The next second, Todd's body convulsed, his face twisting in pain. His scream was so loud it could shatter eardrums.

Frankie's expression tightened as he turned to Suzanne in alarm. "Dr. Smith, this—"

Her face remained impassive as she responded coolly. "This is normal. If you want him to be fully cured, he'll have to endure the pain."

Did they think she took this case to make Todd comfortable?

Frankie looked worriedly at Todd. Seeing him in such agony, how could any father bear it?

But Todd clenched his teeth and straightened his back. "Dad, I can handle it—ahhh!"

Shane, lounging on the couch, rubbed his lips, his eyes barely concealing his amusement. Oh, there was no doubt now—Suzanne was doing this on purpose.
