Her Hidden Crowns (Suzanne and Austin) novel Chapter 318

Marsha ended up not having to use the wine bottle in her hand at all.

Suzanne shielded Cheryl behind her so that those people wouldn't be able to hurt her. Out of everyone at the scene, she was the weakest fighter.

All of a sudden, the bar turned into chaos.

Soon enough, Charles had thrown Simon's group of men to the ground, where they groaned in pain.

When the manager of the bar noticed the commotion over here, he hurried over. He was dumbfounded by what he saw.

He went forward to help Simon up. He apologized profusely, saying, "I'm sorry, Mr. Lewis. Are you hurt?"

The manager didn't know who Charles was. Charles wasn't the type of person that he would typically come into contact with anyway. All he knew was that Simon was someone of significance. He was a big shot whom he couldn't afford to offend.

Simon pointed at the manager with his quivering finger. He chided, "I've spent so much at your establishment all year round. Can't I just have this woman drink with me?"

He pressed his hand on the area of his body where Charles had hit him. If this man wasn't someone he could mess with, couldn't he at least shout at that bitch?

The manager's face fell. He looked toward Cheryl, who was behind Suzanne.

Pointing at her, he marched forward and reprimanded her, "Can't you just do your job well? Do you feel wronged just because he asked you to drink with him? Get the hell out of here if you don't wish to work here. Don't be such an eyesore. Apologize to Mr. Lewis this instant!"

The gazes on Cheryl felt like spikes being pierced through her heart.

She hung her head low, subconsciously balling her hands into tight fists as she tried her best to suppress the humiliation she felt.

Just as she was about to apologize, Suzanne took a step forward to stand in front of Cheryl, shielding her from everyone's critical gazes.

With a frosty gleam in her eyes, she stared at the manager and remarked in a steady voice, "I didn't know that Night Charm had bar hostesses who provided escort services."

Hostesses at Night Charm were there to sell drinks. At most, they would drink with their patrons. Escort services were prohibited. At least, they were prohibited on the surface level.

The manager stiffened up when Suzanne questioned him. Glaring at her, he replied in a firm voice, "Mr. Lewis was just asking her to drink with him. Why are you blabbering about escort services?"

Marsha could no longer bear to stand and watch. She was the best at arguments.

She stepped forward with her hands on her hips. She blurted out, "Are you implying that we're deaf, or are you treating everyone as fools? This asshole wanted the few of us to sleep with him. Everyone heard him. How could you now say that he just wanted someone to drink with him?"
