Chapter 64
When Suzanne was about to sit on Marsha’s left, Marsha suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her, so she was now sitting on Marsha’s right.
Suzanne’s smile froze immediately–Jenson was sitting right next to her.
Marsha didn’t know about Suzanne’s fight with Jenson yet. She leaned in to whisper into Suzanne’s ear with a wicked grin. “How’s that for a surprise, bestie?”
Suzanne couldn’t help her brow from twitching with a frown. Through gritted teeth, she managed to say, “It’s definitely a surprise!”
Before she arrived, she had been praying not to get any ugly surprises that night. Her worst wishes had come true!
Marsha cocked up her chin slightly as she said proudly, “I came up with this plan just for you!”
She poured a glass of liquor for Suzanne and put it down in front of her with a wink. “Come on. You know being drunk is a great solution for some things,
‘she said meaningfully.
Suzanne was speechless. She really couldn’t “thank” Marsha enough for such a blunder.
Suzanne wanted nothing more than to run as far away from Jenson as possible, but Marsha was practically shoving him toward her.
Suzanne took the glass from Marsha and was about to speak when the door to the booth opened.
Seline entered in a flowy white dress. She had a gentle smile on her face, and delicately applied makeup decorated her pristine features. She looked like the very picture of innocence.
Marsha’s expression immediately darkened and she said, “What the hell? What’s that pick–me doing here?”
She slammed her glass onto the table.
Marsha had personally organized the party that night. Why had Seline suddenly shown up?
Marsha didn’t want Suzanne to misunderstand her and turned to look at her friend. “I swear I didn’t ask her to join. I didn’t know she’d be bold enough to show up uninvited!”
Suzanne smiled slightly and gently patted Marsha’s arm. “It’s okay. I know how she is.”
