Chapter 91
The startled Emma shrank closer to Aaron but still replied obediently, “Oh, okay.”
Nonetheless, her curious eyes kept darting to Suzanne,
Suzanne couldn’t help but adore her. How could this little girl be so cute?
The atmosphere grew awkward after that.
Felicia glanced at Yasmine with some hesitation, clearly wanting to say something but swallowing her words in the end. She finally sighed softly. “I’m going out for a walk.”
As Yasmine watched Felicia walk away, she shouted anxiously, “Mom, you can’t leave! Don’t let her touch me!”
Felicia’s steps faltered briefly, but she steeled herself and walked out, her reddened eyes hidden from Yasmine’s view.
Yasmine was in despair. She dared not imagine what would happen to her once Suzanne treated her.
Aaron, holding Emma, walked to the bedside while lowering his gaze, not daring to meet Yasmine’s eyes. He said softly, “Yasmine, Emma and I will wait outside.”
Yasmine shat her eyes in pain, her last shred of hope in them completely extinguished.
She feared she would die on this very bed that day
Tears slid from the corners of her eyes into her hair as she gritted her teeth and spat, “Scram!”
Juren’s heart ached. No one was more distressed than him about Yasmine’s illness.
He loved Yasmine with his life; seeing her like this was no different than a blade slicing through his heart.
Yet, at this moment, he was powerless.
Holding his daughter tightly, Aaron gave Yasmine one last long look before turning and leaving with heavy steps.
Austin gazed at Suzanne before asking softly, “What about my father?”
Both their gazes fell on Timothy, who was still glaring at Suzanne
Suzanne sighed softly. “Ms. Hall, I advise you not to move around so much. It will hurt less that way.”
